My experience is maining as druid, people complained that my heals and dps suck all the time, as soon as i switch to guarduan, the god mode is turned on and I am able to do all content with ease, so class imbalance is there (mages are insane this xpac as an example). As an old wow player I do see obvious game flaws and also wonder when they will be fixed. I forgot to mention the addons. Why doesn’t the game give us the functionality that we need from the start? If you take away certain addons that I use, I would not play the game.
Us would be people that feel like he and I
Maybe its time for a change of scenery character wise. Sounds like your having a hard time with being a caster which, makes sense. Its a hard time to be a caster right now unless you have abilities that insta-proc or have a really short cast time. Try making a melee toon! It may be just the change you need to start having fun again
I agree with your criticisms of WoW enemies not being telegraphed enough.
But I dont think ff14 is a good counter example. Its telegraphs look too much like a video game. Not a natural attack.
I think Elden Ring is probably a better example.
I guess we need WoW NPCs to have a special shout. like. “OK YOU NEED TO INTERRUPT THIS CAST” while they cast something. Or “HA DONT WASTE YOUR INTERRUPT ON THIS”
We really need to remove any need for knowledge or experience in a situation.
…isnt that basically what we have now with weakauras?
I have yet to see a single WA to do that.
And if we did, yall should be rejoicing right?
I thought the whole complaint was “weak auras play the game for you” but now we are like “ok, but what if the game did more than WAs”
Thanks. I do alt hop a lot, and it is true which class/spec you are playing ramps up or down the difficulty. With delves being a thing now Blizz really needs to spend some time bring the specs that are weaker in solo play up to par.
Idk what the addon is. I dont mess with addons.
Whatever the one is thats telling streamers to move or interupt X with an actual AI voice.
Still isnt doing what the person is asking for, which is a step further.
I call them “please stay in the game mechanics” because it’s just Blizzard using cheap methods to increase your overall game time.
The worst perpetrator is M+ queuing, which seems like it’s designed to make you spend an hour and half between deciding which dungeon to do, finding a group to do it, then having a solid 50% chance of burning the key or succeeding, followed by a solid 7.5% chance of getting a piece of gear that is an upgrade.
The second worst is the delve mechanics, not even the enemies, just the mechanics that make every delve take so much longer than it should, and theyre all just “walk over here and click, then wait for your cast bar to fill, but don’t get hit by the swirly thing that’s covered up by the foliage, you can turn off the foliage if you want to be more efficient, but it makes the game a UI simulator instead of an RPG”
Im not even gonna get started on how the game is more gather information than use the information.
Youre right about the M+ keys. But I thi k them being premade only is a holdover from Mythic dungeons.
Mythic dungeons being premade only made sense. M+ being premade only never made sense, blizzard just didnt feel like changing it.
Need to understand what your definition of fun is. If all you do is explain what is not fun to you, nobody can help you.
I can’t stand the parse culture and having to press every button right and do everything so fast. I’d love to take a bulldozer to all of it to slow down the game and come at it from a totally different angle.
One thing I love Delves for is showing that there is a different desire for content and content pace out there compared to everything else.
It’s very hard though to give good feedback on WoW because oftentimes you have an opinion, and that opinion based on feelings clashes with sound design. That sound design works in how it is implemented in the game, but despite being sound and well reasoned it just doesn’t feel fun. And therein lies the issue as I can’t tell you specifically why I don’t like it down to the root cause.
I have often sat here and thought to myself I hate this thing. But when I truly think about it there are things I think that made sense to change or be designed the way they did. It sucks and is often ambivalent and contradictory, but I think it’s best to still speak up and say “I don’t like this” because maybe there is a better way no one has thought of. Or maybe the solution is in overhauling things and that is a huge risk the devs simply won’t take.
Sometimes if things perhaps get too stale and unfun, despite the well reasoned intelligent approach, the better solution is to overhaul it all.
WoW in the past did a great job in capturing the social aspect, sense of wonder, and fun in getting loot and experiencing a world and its economy. The classes were exciting and unique in their own way. Now I feel those aspects are all but gone.
But again I personally have zero clue how to fix it.
So two of you out of millions, wow!
Except I disagree and multiple others have. So, who cares?
I think you have assembled the ultimate thread of awful takes. Reading through this was hilarious but also so sad because people actually believe this drivel…
I agree wow is way to hard, if i didnt have addons playing the game for me i also would be stuck only doing heroic dungeons and LFR. Thankfully blizzard allows me to us addons to play the game for me so its all good!
the second content becomes too difficult, complicated or painful is when you should quit doing it instead of punishing yourself, Netflix is a better option…
To simplify the argument the state of the game is look for the picture beneath 10lbs of glitter, it is a cheap design. It’s to much, I for one feel anxiety trying to watch for the mechanics while having to worry about developing epilepsy with a screen full of strobe lights.
