I’ve tried everything, once I hit the play button, it sits for a while as if it is attempting to load the game, and then it just, doesn’t. I was playing fine a few days ago on a new toon, but all of a sudden, after this recent update, I can’t play at all. I’ve updated my drivers, put in the extra launch code (which I deleted as it did nothing), made sure that my Direct X was good to go, but nothing changes. I have no idea what to do anymore. The PC has been reset many times, hell I’ve even reset the internet to make sure that it wasn’t just bad connection.
In the thread linked, the other player found renaming the wow.exe and restarting the launcher helped after it rebuilt the client. Try renaming it wow.exe.bak, do a fresh run of the launcher, and if it doesn’t patch, run scan and repair.
If you see this Kozzae, thank you, changing the name of the file did work, but I had to also Scan and Repair the game, but it seems to be working fine. Thank you for your wisdom.
I’m have the same problem. Played yesterday with no problems. Hope they come up with a solution!!!
Do what Kozzae said to do above then scan and repair, should fix it
How do I go about changing the name of a file please.
Go into the files for the game in Battlenet Launcher by hitting the Cog Icon next to PLAY. Next, click Show in Explorer. The “World of Warcraft” application is what you are looking for. Right click then hit Rename
