The light is just a memory eraser like they have in MIB, just on a much larger scale. Can’t have the aspirants remembering anything.

Only times I’ve found it challenging is in areas with lava. And there have been quite a few in DF. First time I’ve ever felt genuine eye discomfort in this game.
