I can pretend to take my characters with me from game to game. MMO to MMO. Of course they will not look the same but I can carry the name over.
It isn’t dying though. I thought it would have died a long time ago. All they do instead is pull in new players. The old ones leave. It is a rotating door.
This way content doesn’t actually matter as most will leave and don’t care but are replaced with new

I’ve been holding on to my character models alone with an entire copy of all of wow’s files since 2017. This provides the perfect opportunity move to Blender fulltime.

It’s not. The new players that come in are fewer than the old, committed players that leave. And retention is awful for new players. It has always been bad, and they’ve never gone past the wishful thinking stage to try to figure out why. Right now they seem to be fixated on the idea that the natural progression from raw beginner for every new player is directly to hardcore competitive esports. The only thing keeping new players from that inexorable endpoint is that they were mind controlled by a streamer or read the wrong troll on the forums.

Artificial-sounding questions and answers is nothing someone wants to see. They would not have these issues if they actually give the players what they want instead waiting until one faction is irreversible destroyed for the endgame, they are caught in a lawsuit and having done things which destroyed the accessibility on purpose with awful, removed or changed systems in the name of MAU. And insulting Asmongold was also very stupid to begin with, it shows no professionalism.
Everything what happened so far is their very own fault.

Trolls are going to troll. The rough numbers show as low as 2.6 million players play wow now. And falling. FF14 is taking our players cause Actiblizzard made SL’s suck.
