Game is extremely dark

not sure what it is but my game is just darker then it should be. checked almost everything i could. my monitors setting are all the way at 100%. game settings and the shadows are extra dark. its as if the gamma is set to maybe 30% but it is 50% and still it’s super dark for a 50% gamma.

my eye sight isn’t bad either but yea i can’t even see inside certain dark caves on the starting island. any ideas what to check? everything is updated btw. gpu, cpu, etc… tried direct x 11 since someone suggested it was direct x 12 which was causing it and nothing.

Uninstall update your Video card drivers.
Whats your game Contrast, Brightness , Gamma set to?
Default settings are:
Contrast: 50%
Brightness : 50%
Gamma : 1

they are stock 50/50/1 i tried to mess around with them to see how they looked but nothing.

video card drivers? is that the gpu or different? ill try google and see.

pretty sure everything is up to date now. had 1 driver not updated but just finished and still the same thing

Do you have HDR enabled in your display settings of Windows? Could be some issue with that since the game is in LDR space and I think Windows now has an automatic LDR=>HDR conversion thing now.

not sure but i just restarted my comp and it seemed better now. ill try check the HDR thing.

HDR was off but when i turn it on for comparison yea it’s super dark like it was earlier. idk if it was on earlier but i dont remember touching it
