Sheesh, always people putting words in my mouth or just not reading the title even if it was clear as day that I was merely making an observation.
Note to self; last time I do threads here.
Cheers.

Usually the argument is ‘they are doing X more than Y’. So are you unhappy that there is more X?
The content that is there has always been there. Nothing has been taken away?
Did you write this in 2011 and only hit submit now ?
That ship sailed with Transmog in Cataclysm my dude.
I’m not saying anything has been taken away and nor do I appreciate the argument that ‘‘has always been there’’ or has always been like that since it misrepresents my opinion.
Reward wise, we’ve gone much more into the cosmetic side. I think it’s acting as a crutch. So regarding open world content [since the three pillars is not what I’m referring to] is pretty tame, lame, basic, whatever you want to put in there… but the carrot now for the gameloop is cosmetic mostly.
I’d like to see better open world content. And pair it with different rewards that feel good. Very basic cosmetics everywhere feels … I don’t know … bad in some ways for me.
Since like Cataclysm.
One would argue the actual start of this was Tier 2 set revamps though all the way back in Vanilla.
People wanted the appearance more than the gear itself.
I had this thing all wrote out but it’s not going to make a difference or change ops mind.
The things they have added like the Trade Post are small, quick updates that people can enjoy and do leisurely.
What you’re talking about are systems that would need major patch updates. One doesn’t affect the other. I get what you want, but adding in cosmetics isn’t a bad thing nor does it impact the development of the things you’re asking for.
Don’t you worry about cosmetics, let ME worry about cosmetics.
It’s been a neat situation since BfA with Island Expeditions and later Covenant “capes”.
I’m thinking you and others are misunderstanding my point.
I’m in favor of the trading post, that is fine for me.
Reward wise it does ?
What did you expect the trading post to have? Free gear upgrades, free PVP/PVE carries?
They are bedazzling the game with Fortnite like cosmetics. We’re in the final stages of the life of the game where now they will monetize whatever they can.
We can hope the next expac has something interesting to do but if it doesn’t then we’re at the end game and its basically time to move on.
How does Trade Post rewards affect… say… a WPVP reward system?
The DF dev team and I are on completely different ends of the spectrum for what’s considered “interesting” content. But hey, I got a pink cape so… great job blizz!
I went on record saying the majority of wow players don’t care about transmogging their gear and I stand by it. About the only time they’ll do it is if the set looks awful.
Even with that in mind, I can still accept that glamour transmog is the true end-game. It’s a good thing they’re making it more accessible.
This made me laugh more than it should have well played!
No because really? What did he expect?
Legion had the whole artifact system designed around farming extra appearances.
CMs in WoD/MoP.
Heck, gear using varying skins from item to item.
Let’s face it, this game has always been about playing dress up.
WoW content was never really anything to be like “wow I can’t wait to get get home and run a bunch of m+”, a lot of people (including myself) would raid back in the day to get that cool armor set or that cool mount.
tldr; It’s always been cosmetics, and will only ever be cosmetics
I wouldn’t be able to tell you. As an xmog enthusiast the trading post pretty much caters to me and a lot of people I know.
