Getting a lot of game freezing (2-6s) after the new patch, and then it leaves my screen with some large green blocks. Not sure what’s causing this? Green blocks are kind of on top of my details window so possibly the addon? Anyone else have issues similar?

It’s not the addon, as I have this exact same issue. I actually uninstalled ALL my addons and ran a Scan/Repair and the issue was STILL happening. It’s 100% something with the update.

Same problem. It has happened two or three times to me today. Game freezes up, screen goes black with some text on it, it recovers mostly but with green blocks over my addons.

I have the same issue, i uninstalled wow, deleted my entire wow folder and did a fresh install, still happening
Boredumb, on another thread about this issue posted this:
“go to settings and switch the card from auto detect to whatever your card is, and try going back to Direct X 11.”
And so far it’s working for me!

Am currently getting this, reloading the UI seems to clear it for that session but every session of WoW i seem to have this happen.
Though it’s not just UI elements that go green, the Self Highlight circle under your characters feet (if enabled) also turns into a green, alpha’d square.
GPU already set to my discrete GPU and sadly Dx11 gives me lower FPS, and on a 3060ti WoW’s already struggling so not a fix for me unfortunately.

Also having this issue since 11.1.7… The same as described over here.
My game has been completely freezing with no movement or anything, and it seems to be at random. It freezes for up to 12 seconds and has only been doing this since 11.1.7 I think. Pretty cool when it does it to me when I’m standing in fire.
it is freezing, it is stuttering, it is lagging, it is doing many nasty things.
for the last 4 hours I have been attacking the issue, nothing works.
it is just unbelievable.

Having this same issue. Checked my Windows Error Reports and saw an Nvidia hardware crash every time it happened, thought my PC was finally kicking the bucket (which would have been more believable, I’m playing well below the required specs).
Seems like it’s everyone’s problem, though. Can someone please verify that opening “View all problem reports” lists hardware crashes under the Windows category as well?

Same issue here, since patch. 6-10 second freeze. Big green blocks left on screen.
I have this issue too, i thought it was an issue with my PC so i tried restarting it but didn’t work, same goes to my new laptop that i got back in March
im also having this issue. so frustrating to get this during raid or in a delve.
I been having this issue BUT i notice that after i finish the new arathi questline it seem to magically disappear.
Tested this on my alt that did not do the quest and it occurs multiple time whereas the character that i did the quest on was smooth sailing…
Update:
It seem that having the quest to take the portal to Arathi Highland is causing the glitch (which is very weird and odd but small indie company)

I tried what you said and that didn’t fix it for me. Sadly it’s not just that quest but something different.
Its happening to me anytime I am in range of a Festival area (But not the one in Orgrimmar). As for the green blocks…having to do a /reload to fix that one each time.
Are we surprised atm that they cant figure out what they broke? A year from now this issue will still be around!

dang i was going to do that tonight as i as well have this issue. blizz plz fix your game. Last week right after update it froze and green blocks. this past tuesday it now freezes with no green blocks. plz fix your game blizz its affecting my gameplay
