Game freezing for 1-5 seconds ish

so, this is a legitimate problem from what ive seen for a decent margin of players, myself included. it has been an ongoing issue for myself since some point in season 2 and i believe it was around the .5 turbo boost patch though i could be wrong.

well, today my 712 IL resto shaman bricked a HARDMODE TAZ run because i caught the lag during the miniboss during the first set of bombs and lethal whatever and by the time the lag ended, i had just enough time to watch my character fall over and brick the run. im a decent player. i got the enterprising title achievement last season which was probably the hardest season ever to do so IMO, so i am no slouch.

it happened on the very first set of mines, the game just freezes completely and there is nothing to i can do. ive seen footage of others having the same issue…others with computers way better and way worse than mine (rtx 4060 and amds 5700X3D, nothing special but sheesh)

now i will admit, this is typically an issue that i face once per session when i play HOWEVER, this is not something i would ever expect from pulling 3 mobs in 5 man content WITHOUT LUSTING.!!!>dhfjklaosg

in all seriousness, this problem has only miraculously bricked 4-5 keys for me in the last 6 or so months. with that being said, there have been quite a few moments where it puts me and my team and myself in immediate danger until the freeze stops, but this is CLEARLY not how the game is meant to be designed, so why would should i continue to pay for it? unless someone wants to tell me “HEY, YOU PAY EXTRA FOR THOSE BUGS”

there are threads everywhere on reddit and the wow forums but there are 2 things i cannot find anywhere regarding this issue:

  1. a solution (whoa bro, chill)
  2. a response from the DEVS (yeah bro, definitely chill)

this reminds me so much of the problem that we had with our mouses in Shadowlands during zerith mortis era. as a healer using mouseovers, your mouse could bug out completely and there was nothing you could do, just tell your team that “oh yeah, the 5th affix, my mouse” and the devs never even acknowledged that it was an existing issue even though every single healer streaming was dealing with it.

you guys are absolute trash. make the game free if you arent worth making it something worth paying for.

This has been happening to me recently too. I’ll pull a boss in M+ and the game freezes for like 4 seconds.

The problem you mentioned is real, several people are experiencing it (myself included). I’d just recommend removing the insult at the end, because without it your post will have more credibility.

I’ve been having this issue and also hear the same from several other players. My computer is pretty new and I keep everything up to date. I had to swap to DirectX11 due to other unplayable freezing issues from a recent patch and that helped, but I still get random micro-freezes occasionally while in a dungeon or raid. I don’t get it in every instance, but it can be deadly if the timing is bad. It doesn’t always happen in the same places, but it’s usually when a mechanic is about to drop. If I’m in it, I am out of luck.

I have this problem every few days. It happens on both my laptop and desktop. I have been doing BFA world quests and every single time I go to do the save the baby turtles from the crab quest I DC.

Honestly, at this point and after ALL of the forum reporting that has occurred, the insults are warranted to both the Dev team and the forum trolls. Even if they don’t KNOW what the problem is, they should at least acknowledge it’s a problem on their end and they are “trying to figure it out”. But since it’s been radio silence, they deserve to be pushed/insulted a little bit. Every time it happens to me, or my guildies, it become just that more annoying.

id gladly remove the insult but at this point i dont think its an insult, i think it is true.

i had a one time weekly event with 4 other players that was instantly ruined due to this issue doing Taz Hardmode and i had to explain to 4 others why i stood in a shock mine and ruined the run 15 minutes in. do you know how infuriating that was? if i was just me, i suppose i could walk away, but the fact that it affected myself and 4 others is just absurd and as i said, the fact that there is no acknowledgement of the issue is just pure lazy and its not the first time there has been major in game issues and blizzard has said absolutely nothing…like the holiday buffs and dungeon follower buffs that people exploited for months in season 1. or the bugged out mouse from BFA.

they ignore and refuse to acknowledge many in game problems, however this one is by far the worst and has been happening for ~7 months or so.

its pure laziness because they are too busy working on their new expansion that they will roll out by reducing the amount of time we spend in the current expansion by ~25% which will generate them more revenue… okay whatever thats fine so i have to pay more to play your game but

Yes, its unfortunately happening to me as well and several other players also reported the same when I asked them.

In season 1 it was very common on City of Threads’ last boss and now it seems Gambit in general is very likely to trigger it (especially the murlocks and the portals).
Gambit never had such an issue in SL, neither in S3 nor in S4.

Sometimes its faster to restart the wow client, than to wait for the game (I did not count, but the longest may have been over 10 seconds so now I just alt f4 after a few seconds).
Reproducible without addons as well.

Its rotting here since the start of tww right next to the auto loot bug (you have to try multiple times to actually loot anything) or the quest interaction bug (you have to outrange npcs and retry, if you cant interact with them and you should be able).

well then, i guess its a good thing i came here for a solution as well as bringing more awareness to an already well known, long term problem and not “the Sympathy Vote”
