A friend of mine has reported multiple instances of her game freezing after opening the appearance tab. I want to stress that it is not isolated to just when that specific tab is opened. After she opened it once, her game is now completely broken. The game will sporadically freeze, and all of her UI elements have turned green. Others have sited similar issues and none of the “solutions” seem to work for her, like using Direct X11, assigning her graphics card manually, updating graphics drivers or downgrading graphics drivers, deleting the addon folder, deleting the UI folder, etc.
Again, I want to stress that the game is sporadically FREEZING. Anyone who is siting green UI elements is having this issue, the green UI elements is not the principle issue, it is the game freezing. This seems to be an ongoing issue since the release of 11.1.7.
Hi friend I am going through the same exact thing. Every time I open the appearance tab my game freezes up and some models turn grey without textures. I have searched and repaired and redownloaded drivers. Still freezing. Thought it was just me though!
I am having the same issue when I open mount, pet, etc…., tabs. It freezes up…. then I wait, then it’s like another screen pops up and it works fine. I have crashed doing the same activities pet, mount, collection tab…… and I would receive a WOW not responding 3D message.
I have this problem from time to time, opening mounts/pets/appearances or my bank/warbank … same deal, everything freezes. Sometimes it comes back with green UI elements, sometimes - it just straight up hard crashes
Having the same issue. When opening the appearance tab, character model is blank and items are either not there or just grey squares. Have done everything that would normal fix and even did a fresh install. Same issue right when open that screen. Not having the issue with any other screens though or game play.
I found this in another thread about Alt-Tab freezing up, it has seemed to have helped with this issue too, I was having the same problem, and thought it was my machine
Registry Editor → HkeyLocalMachine → Software → Microsoft → Windows → Dwm → create Dword 30bit → rename to OverlayTestMode → change data value to 00000005
Hi, i can’t stress enough how well this worked, to anyone that reads my reply regarding the Appearance glitch, switching your Graphics API to DirectX11 solves it
