My game has been randomly freezing hard for about 5-10 seconds then everything goes back to normal. Anyone else have this issue? and know how to fix it? Apparently I am not alone on this. Tons of guild members and multiple streamers I watch have it happen to them on stream and die to mechanics because of it. I don’t know what Blizzard did but this has been happening for almost a month now and never use to freeze before the patch. I’m so tired of it and it’s very annoying. Something needs to get fixed already.

I feel like its related to DBM occasionally freezing when its loading a warning. It always happens when a mechanic comes up that has a “watch your step” type of warning that it hasn’t used lately.
Is it happening to anyone not using DBM?

The game also can hang up when you alt+tab. It’s a weird lag that I don’t think it’s hardware related.

yup…weird sound coming from it too. lol
mine does it sometimes. not always.
a solid 5 second freeze just before a mechanic/assets pops in.
one spot while doing trash in the raid also does it sometimes, i think it’s right before the dino/monkey.
at least it doesnt crash lol
*it seems to always be in instanced content if it happens. never noticed it in town/openworld.
*it could very well be dbm. im not sure. not about to run without it.

I don’t use combat addons and it happens every other delve.

Interesting, I’ve never had it happen in a delve.
im gonna wait a few years before using that forum again 
they like to just ask anyone with a 13th/14th gen intel to get a new cpu or rma it when it has nothing to do with it lol

I just checked the Tech forum, I saw 6 posts there about game freezes currently happening and that was just a quick eye scan. Some seem to be suggesting either or both a Nvidia update issue or a Microsoft update issue.
I really recommend anyone having this problem check the forum posts. I have not had it happening but I dont have a Nvidia card and Im still using Windows 10 (and will be until it stops being supported in October) so it could well be I’m not using software that is the issue.

It was happening in S1 too.
The alt tab freezing bug is new. If you quickly alt tab back once again, then it suddenly ends. This however feels like a whole new type of bug, because the program actually freezes.
In S1 I found CoT last boss to be particularly likely to trigger these 5-10 sec hangs (where everything moves (just stationary like when your net goes out), chat works, even your inputs go through precisely, but you see nothing of it).
I dont use DBM, only BigWigs/LittleWigs, so its not specific to DBM.

Mine is a lot longer than 5-10 seconds.

Yep. Mine started with the big Windows update that went through like a month ago.
Yes, but it happens rarely. I thought an addon was doing something but I’m not sure if it was a weakaura, DBM or something else.
A random old thread I found said to try changing details interval frequency to be higher (it defaults to 0.2).
Unfortunately the addon CPU useage thing they added isn’t very useful because it doesn’t tell you what addons were at peak, just that you hit 100% peak CPU.

Yes. It’s happened to me, to my husband, and to several of our guild mates on a regular basis.
It’s 100% on the game’s end.
It’s horrid, and it’s cost us some key timers and a lot of frustration. If it happens at the wrong moment, it can just be awful. Some of my guys have noticed it more frequently in certain dungeons or areas, but it has been a general blanket issue since the patch dropped.
Some of our people considered add-ons and went through the process of shutting them all down and then turning them back on one at a time. They never could isolate a particular add-on or aura that was causing it.
Some switched from DBM to BigWigs. Some just turned DBM off completely for a week. They still experienced the spikes and freezes.

I get it but I use bigwigs. Could be M+/raid weakauras.
I get freezes in Delves. The only WAs I have are my dragonriding vigor bar and Bountiful Delves Tracker, which switches itself off inside of Delves. Oh, and a DoT timer that a friend created for me to track my own DoTs, but I’ve used that for years now without issue.
