What I’m hearing is he liked to antagonize, and he knew exactly how to. In turn that means he knows how to not antagonize, and passed on that knowledge.

In my case, I love talking about religion with others because there is much more in common than not. The rituals are usually different but the goals are usually the same. I tend not to do that on the forum but IRL I have close friends of many religions and enjoy learning about the similarities and differences.

Cause politics make people fight and say irrational thing to each other and if you had the same views as me you might not be such a numskull and ask such ridiculous questions.

Strictly speaking. If you wanna see full on tribalism in action. Bring up politics. Video games are a place to escape the insanity of the real world. So we really don’t need it brought here.

Pretty much anyone on the internet knows you don’t bring up specific topics because they always ending up bringing out tribalists and the whole conversation gets shut down.
Unless you’re in a specific place that discusses these very topics, you generally don’t bring up:
-Politics
-Religion
-Gender Issues
-Sexual Identify
-Race
-Financial Standing
I wonder how many of y’all have jobs, because these are also things that are generally taboo to talk about in any work space.
Gaming areas are treated largely in the same way as at work- respect others as you’d want to be treated. You are a guest here, as is anyone else. Otherwise, you’ll be banned or isolated, as you should be lol.
Cause you can’t have those discussions without getting spicy and breaking a whole bunch of other rules so it’s better to go to the places where you can really take off the boxing gloves
I refuse to believe that the same person capable of reading is incapable of understanding why discussing vitriolic opinionated topics would be prohibited.

Politics is like kissing your cousin. You don’t talk about it around folks you don’t know.
because gaming forums are a place to talk about the game they were made for?

You want to go political, go to a social media platform like Twitter (X) or something.
