Game feels VERY empty

No matter where I go or what I do, I see very very few people online. No matter what hour of any given day. Is this game that bad?

there’s literally nothing interesting to do right now that we haven’t been doing for the past two weeks.

It’s been two weeks. Nobody is leveling in the open world anymore.

Not my experience at all. Granted maybe we are in different time zones but whenever I’m on (usually my play time is 6 - 9 pm eastern weekdays and whatever weekends) I see plenty of players .

But I’ll be honest even if I didn’t I wouldn’t care that much either.

kinda untrue. it all heavily depends on your server.

also feel like in 2024 if you ARENT playing on one of the handful of large servers in retail… what are you doing?

Yes it is.

Though everyone is likely just spamming Dungeons.

The game is instanced to avoid lags and all…You should know that…

It’s a little quiet. Earlier today I will say it seemed impossible to fish in a pool without having more people come in and fish in it too lol. I like the company!

I also see some people working on getting nerubian chitin for a mount, people farming bees still.

People getting busy work done this week.

The season starts soon! I’m sure it will pick up more when it starts.

Most of them is in the capital city, no different from dragonflight

I play on a medium-high pop server. Booming Horde side, not so much on Alliance.

The stories, writing, main characters, game mechanics, dependency on 3rd party add-ons and such are just not appealing to the masses anymore. Blizz HQ apparently decided to target a very small but loyal demographic of players to appeal to.

They still make plenty of revenue though with things like:

  • Early access with huge % mark up
  • Cash Shop
  • Rehashing old content
  • Reducing budget on developers ( artists make about 60% of what developers make)

It’s a business model that’s tried and true.

Enjoying my time on cozier servers, especially since not being on higher pop barely matters now for most people.

I’m playing with Warmode on, and even I run into people regularly.

I get attacked while fishing lol, but I’ve pretty much killed everyone that’s attacked me, it’s been fun.

Imo there’s more people out and about than just sitting in Dornogal.

My home server is Illidan, but I play on Bleeding Hollow, and with Warmode on, so it often lumps me in with those servers.

Warmode just puts you with others that have it on, often from those high-pop, ex-PvP servers like Illidan and Stormrage.

If you want to see tons of people try Area 52, Stormrage, Illidan, or Moonguard as I think these are all pretty heavily populated. Basically any server that typically says FULL on it just go there.

Also, starting on the 10th Sept you’re likely going to see a LOT more people around.

Since it’s September it’s possible that people are going back to school, or taking vacation to end the Summer. Also, I play on many different servers and some are dead, while others are more active - that’s at any given time. Another factor is some people might have left the game, I will be one of those come December.

Most the times when I’m flying around I see people questing or going after herbs the same herbs i’m going after the nerve smh, Sarcasm out of the way. Most people are in major cities afking while they wait for queues or are doing something irl. To note I am on Stormrage one of the big servers so that could also contribute to me seeing more.

Pretty sure anyone saying otherwise is huffing something. Thanks for the input bro :dotted_line_face: :face_in_clouds:

Yes.
It’s been that bad since the SL Cinematic bait-n-switch into whatever tf SL was.
Lost a lot of subs at that time. People who said they’d never come back came back for that cinematic, and blizz showed very clearly that blizz doesn’t want their subs.

Game hasn’t recovered since.
DF didn’t draw anyone in, just repelled people with taste.
TWW isn’t helping. Even with every zone being half or even 1/3 or 1/4 of old zone sizes to force us to see others.
New xpac just launched to… a content drought.
And if you did the only “content” available, which is “optional, and new!” (See Torghast, islands, scenarios reskin), if you did do that solo, non-competitive content, guess what your time and your gold you spent in the AH to level up Brann was intentionally and directly erased down to level 15. Not a bug. A punishment. For doing the only content available.
Subs are low. Because the game has been designed to be this bad.
Maybe we should get off this “modern game for modern audience” and what Metzen noticed was “a democracy of ideas” from seemingly students and unpaid interns, and 1 paid Furrie artist gloating on his/her/zher’s twitter account about designing dracthur with free reign.
Maybe we should get back to having leaders and rules and deadlines, and tested and true art theory, and get away from suno-AI generated music tracks and voicelines and politics and propaganda, and just make a game for everyone again. Maybe.
