Game-breaking GCD bug

I have a 385 wand and I had to replace it with my old 370 dagger due to Smite casts triggering auto-attacks from the wand, and consequently putting an extra GCD on them.
I don’t target with right click, and I’ve already tried the /stopattack macro with no success.

This has been a known issue since beta if not earlier. They have no plans to fix it.

Yep, I’ve had to keep my 370 dagger for solo and discipline as well. Luckily I’m our designated holy priest for raids, so I get that ilvl boost from the 385 wand there, but that’s the only thing it’s any good for. So. Dumb.

Mend had a post for this on their discord. Works for me anyways.

Temporary Fix for Wand Bug. Download AdvancedInterfaceOptions. Go to the addon settings in Interface > Combat > Check “Stop Auto Attack”. It will prevent the wand from attacking and thus prevent it from clipping channels. Not sure if smite is still a problem.

I don’t feel like this will work as that option’s tooltip text reads as “Stop auto attacking when you switch targets.”
I haven’t tried it as I haven’t had a wand drop so I don’t have first hand knowledge just what I read…

It doesn’t work. :frowning:

Bummer. I was looking at my logs and I can’t find any damage from auto attacks. I’m not sure what I’m doing then that prevents it.

If the bug isn’t fixable, how about a vendor that will allow me to exchange the wand for a dagger or mace with the same stats? (Just saying, it really sucks to have the bug interact with 30-50% of my smite casts - numbers come from the day that I counted for a while and stopped when it got really depressing.)
