You know what’s funny? I actually took a nap and dreamed about this issue, with the bonus of somehow deleted characters were being brought back into the character selection screen and you couldn’t do anything about it. I woke up at that point.

Tomorrow should just be restarts during that time frame. They did discuss it in the Tech Support thread a bit ago as the main issue was resolving.
Ok, final update for this topic specifically –
It seems that the impact from the issues experienced earlier have been mitigated. To avoid further disruptions tonight, the WOW team is going to do restarts tomorrow morning.
We’ll get this schedule posted into the launcher and into the game client for those who aren’t watching this thread.
I feel like that has happened at some point… For real even.

It’s hard to see how failure of portals, hearths, etc., was a result of ddos. Though the login issues, sure.
Changing zones means going to a new instance/shard/layer or something. You may even end up changing data centers between locations. If there is a disruption to the internet traffic between those things, you can’t change locations. The Auth server is also not the same place as the datacenters. So someone in game can be fine as long as they don’t change locations, but many people can’t get through the DDoS flood to log in.
