Hello,
I am back trying to play WOW but keep running into a problem: the game stops responding to outside influence, might be the best way to describe it. I can still move around but I am really not able to play, can’t cast spells or abilities. Essentially the game is freezing but I can still move around.
I cannot interact with the game though at all including hitting esc and trying to log out or exit the game, to fix this I have to control alt delete to task manager and end WOW.
This gets better if I remove all addons that our out of date (not the current version number 10.0.5).
My system is up to date in regards to the graphics driver, using directx 12, and windows 11 is fully up to date.
I have done a repair of the game option. I did a clean reinstall last night and I am still getting the error.
Only occasionally do i get actually disconnected where i have to hit reconnect. I have never had the game actually crash to windows.
Any help Please???
I’m having the same issue today started around an hour ago.
Usually when that happens, you’re actually being disconnected from the world server. Sometimes you can still talk in chat channels, since they’re apparently on a different server, but you’ll be unable to actually interact with the game world.
I don’t think there’s anything you can do when that happens, other than just wait the problem out. Maybe go play a toon on a different server or something, after alt+f4ing out.
and yes that does happen, i can see text. i can do a few things but i can’t interact with the game mechanics. wonder if there is a fix? dont really want to change servers
That sounds like a client<>server desync, which usually means one of two things: Either there is some bad hop between between your PC to the WoW servers or the game world server is about to crash. There are other things that can cause this problem, but those are usually the two major ones.
Try to catch it on a WinMTR when it happens, since a lot of the time, the problems are temporary and resolve themselves within minutes. Meaning if you ran one right now, it might should your network connection is perfectly fine, but then an hour from now, it could do it again:
