Game became super dark, shadow everywhere

for some reason 9.1.5 made my game super dark I can barely see anything, messing with graphics settings isnt doing anything, anyone else?

I fixed this issue by switching from DirectX 12 to DirectX 11 in advanced settings. Try that.

You lose nothing, you won’t even notice any difference.

They really wanted to put the emphasis on SHADOWLANDS

If you want to leave DirectX12 on, you can lower your shadow quality to “low”

And Blizzard has nothing to say about this? There’s been a long time now since 9.1.5 was released and this is still bugged =(

After eight months away, I started playing again a week ago. After some Windows updates, the shadows went crazy nuts (I thought about that same “Shadowlands” joke, of course)…

But I updated my AMD video drivers and problem solved.

Had same issue, having trouble updating AMD drivers but in-game darkness problem is solved by switching back to DirectX 11.

Is your monitor plugged in?

I wish the game was super dark, its still Disneyland out there.

Glad you fixed your problem though hehe :+1:

Came back after so long and everything was so dark, I couldn’t see anything. This fixed it immediately! Thank you so much! :two_hearts:
