This trash “skip” of one mob has spread like wildfire this week now that the LFR wing is out (I’d literally never seen it nor considered it prior to this week, as the mob is a lieutenant which can drop BoEs), and in nearly half of my runs yesterday someone failed it resulting in much more lost time than we would have used just pulling it and killing it. Move it back 10 feet so we are forced to pull it and this issue goes away (and some people might accidentally be happy when they get lucky with a BoE).

One of the reasons I no don’t do Dungeons/Raids/Mythics. I only do delves solo or a +1. When I came back to the game in shadowlands briefly after a 10 year hiatus. I quickly discovered this “Skipping” and it drove my batty.
When I returned about a month ago, I decided from the onset I wasn’t doing group stuff. That is one of the reasons for it.

It’s usually the very last person that ends up pulling, which is usually a hunter that doesn’t know what Camo or Feign Death are, which is probably most of them.
But yeah, it doesn’t take much time to just kill the mob and move on.

I can’t believe people trying skipping it… Like it’s not even hard. And after all the obnoxious trash in the raid that is the thing people want to skip?

Last night we were stuck here 4 minutes because that’s how long it took a tank to finally agree that running off and releasing to go tank it was the only way to fix it.

Ah yes. The eternal meta of vainly attempting to skip stuff only to inevitably butt pull something and either cause a wipe, some rando to enrage and go off in chat resulting in the group falling apart, or leading a train of mobs that takes longer to kill than if you had killed that one pack you tried to skip to begin with.
Idiots never learn it seems.

Or, make it not a trash mob. Unkillable doom spider that teleports anyone who gets too close into that crusher in the center of gallywix’s room.
People capable of saving time, continue to save time. But get added entertainment of someone getting yeeted to their doom if they can’t figure out just walking around it at max range.
Blizzard believes making skips is engaging content. I doubt it will ever change.
Some one always ends up failing skips in 5 man content…why anyone would think a full raid roster wouldnt is beyond me lol

they’re not “making skips”. you can kill it if you want. blizzard isn’t stopping you.
I interpreted that as “creating skips”, which has an altogether different meaning.
But yeah, I highly doubt every possible trash skip in raid has been intentionally discussed and designed that way. Given the amount of oversights and bugs that occur, this simply wouldn’t be on their radar initially.

the only way to not “create skips” is to make sure you have to pull everything. otherwise people will find a way to skip stuff.
edit: also i guarantee the anti-skip people aren’t pulling literally every mob in LOU.

I’m someone that enjoys the full effect of the game. I’m not here for the epic loot, I’m not here for the challenge of raids, I’m not here for the scenery. I’m here for all of it. I get into the game.
When I first started TWW (I’ve been in Dragonflight completing that first) I dug myself out of the rubble on the beach, proceeded to go on a bug smashing murder spree. I was angry at what just happened. I wanted revenge. I smashed every bug well past when the quest was complete. I let the game take me. I enjoy playing that way. I don’t do skips, I let the games narrative take over, and from my characters perspective Dalaran has been a home for many expansions.
I play the whole game that way, it takes no effort to get immersed in the moment.
When people do “Skips” and other such crap it breaks my immersion. I’m forced to play for the next epic loot. For the quick win even though in my head, I let the enemy live when they don’t deserve my mercy.
So I don’t do it. If my immersion is ruined by people that play the game that way, then I don’t play with the people.

It takes like 20 seconds to kill.
This is still frustrating as hell, please make this change. It’s one of seven mobs in the raid that can drop trash BoEs, there should be zero incentive to skip it (real or imagined). I’m going to just have to start pulling it in every run I do while farming for the mount at this rate.
LFR trying and failing to skip trash packs is part of the charm.

I look forward to this every time I queue for Gallywix. Sorry, but please don’t ever change it. The last time we all made it past, but one person dropped group and a new person zoned in and pulled it.
Just tag it right away. I doubt you’ll be booted.
