Gallywix caught selling runs for real money

Thanks that’s good enough

That’s the problem, though: Blizzard’s statement against Gallywix was extremely vaguely-worded. It doesn’t clarify, one way or the other, who exactly is subject to actions from Blizzard.

Are the people who engaged in RMT under the Gallywix banner the only ones subject to having their accounts actioned against? If so, good. That’s perfectly fine.

Are the people who engaged in typical gold-for-services trading under the Gallywix banner subject to having their account actioned against because of the aforementioned people engaging in RMT under the Gallywix banner, though? Because if that’s the case there is a very considerable cause for outrage considering how many players worked with the Gallywix community and simply participated in gold-for-services transactions.

Are people who just sold mounts or achievements for gold - something explicitly not against the Terms of Service - subject to being banned because of this simply because they were associated with a community that touted itself as explicitly anti-RMT? Blizzard sure as hell didn’t answer that question.

Yeah it’s looking like it’s time for a rebranding. I wonder what the new name will be

I have no idea it is quite odd though as said above your post how broad the announcement is from blizzard.

How deep does the rabit hole go? Lol

I heard that they have always sold runs for real currency, people just didn’t have solid proof of it. Any “service” that demands that you hop on their discord is most likely selling for real buckaroos.

What happened?

Not enough details are present to draw a clear picture, but apparently an unknown quantity of individuals within Gallywix engaged in RMT activity.

haha, i had to.

They are expensive but I’ve always found them good to deal with, and by that I mean gold.

i was about to say the J word but i don’t want to get vacations

It’s a weird situation. Someone on these forums the other day posted about how they had a RMT buyer thrust upon them without their knowledge.

Apparently people are paying real money to third party RMT sites who are then paying gold to carriers without their knowledge. Only reason this one was found out is the buyer asked “how much $$ for another service”

I don’t remember who it was unfortunately

Unfortunately, this wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest. If this is how it happened, and the person who got put in that situation decided to report it, kudos to them.

Yea, is skeezy AF man, I wouldn’t want to do carries at all right now with all this going on, even solo carries. If you can’t absolutely vet that that person is paying gold, ick.

Spin the " wheel of names" and choose another one to start over with.

In this case, they’ll just pull a Method and reform under the exact same name.

It’s not Gallywix, it’s Wixgally. Completely different groups you see.

Gold for carries is fine.

It’s when u starting selling runs for real money is when you get in trouble.

If they wanna clean up group finder for example they should limit descriptions and just use drop down menus

Every single professional boosting service does that for real money. They just sell gold to sellers.

2020 is not doing so well for Blizzard, double whammy of the last two years. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The community has not been banned.
Blizzard post says that they banned the accounts that were selling for real money.
The community is still there and it’s not going anywhere
