Yea god forbid people who do world content actually have something to do this season…they are just overloaded with content this time!

Personally, I don’t know why they don’t just make the 50% experience buff constant or roll it into a nerf to the amount of exp required via questing/etc. to say level 60. If they truly want to make the game more alt friendly? How many people that have mains that want to get an alt ready for current content are truly saying they want the leveling experience to be slower? Especially if you want to say get an alt to the point where you can get them into current content (i.e. Dragonflight), etc?
The fact you can go to BC or Wrath is great. But players that have already taken two or three characters through that content are going to feel like it’s a chore if they want to take another race/class through it to get to current content.
And then imagine if you are a newcomer that wants to dive into current content without having to pay for a level boost? They could still experience the old content/story if they chose. But such a buff would benefit newcomers as well that might want to be able to play with their friends. And I feel level boosts have negatively impacted the game. Even if someone has less xp required per level? They are still learning how to play that class. As opposed to just boosting to max level then diving into a dungeon and getting facerolled.
If your a person that invested in heirlooms? Those heirlooms effectively render any of the gear you get from drops in questing content useless as is. So I don’t know why they removed the XP Buff from heirlooms.
I feel like they could borrow from the leveling/synergy system Marvel Heroes had. Where if you hit max level? Each subsequent character you hit max level on adds to your XP gain as a passive effect. That would actively encourage people to play alts as they are not only progressing that character, but that character’s progression then would benefit each subsequent alt. They could cap it at a given percentage like 50%-60% and then they could bring heirlooms back allowing for the player to stack further XP gain passives.

I’d be happy with a passive +25% experience buff on a set of heirlooms honestly.

Exactly, this leveling is so disjointed and so empty that the 50% and big chunks of XP felt nice to even explore the world and level. Without it, even SL sucks lol
