Just killed gnarlroot and igira, 2 times each, one in heroic, the other in normal, I had the debuff and boss did have the debuff as well during the kill. Neither gave credit.
Looking for an official answer and the current article for this quest is 3 month old and ignores that this bug is back.

They finally fixed the tethercoil bugs but guess what you still can’t complete your legendary quest since even if you kill those bosses, we will not give you credits for it. Pls, this bug has been around for more than 3 months and ppl still have issues. Fix your game blizz.

Jeeze from one bug to the next. finally got tethercoil fixed, now i can complete this one because its bugged.

I feel like something is a little bit wrong, if whenever I get a quest, the first thing I do, is check bug reports to see if its even worth trying it.

Thank you guys for the continued updates on this questline - I did not even want to get the axe on my paladin but it dropped & so here I am.
I appreciate you guys and look forward to a resolution ASAP - this cannot be good for shareholder value, the people who login expecting the BiS of the BiS and unable to complete a silly step of a quest.

was on Gnawlroot and everyone’s tether broke at the exact same time… hopefully they fix soon… we all so close to getting our axe

Was so excited to finally get the leggo drop, but this cancer has been the worst experience in the almost 20 years of playing the game. At this point, they should be getting GMs to award people quest completion because there is literally no way to do the quest.

I would bet the tethers broke because someone used manic grieftorch - that’s a known issue since it was released.

Nah, I killed the boss and I was stilled tethered to them. In fact, it was actually straight up disrespectful still being tethered by their dead body while I tried to move on… like it was taunting me… I killed it but the boss had the final laugh on me because it dropped nothing for me.

Hi team,
Just to let you know we have done the test on Normal mode, LFR, HC and Mythic on the first boss, without trinkets equipped (to tell you how committed we are), and the bug remains.
- At the very beginning of the day, you are tagging and linking the boss, killing it and nothing happens.
- Mid day, you link with the boss and during the fight, even sticking the boss as target, the links broke for all of us.
- Now, problem persists as the link stays until the boss die but doesn’t reward the quest.
If kindly a Game Master can step by and support our request to solve this issue, we would be very grateful.

Can confirm, just attempted LFR Gnarlroot and Igira. Issue as described above, tether remains the entire fight. Upon boss death, no quest progress awarded. Please fix ASAP, been waiting for my axe for months since returning!!

Tried in LFR and Normal, inspected and asked everyone for not using the Manic Grieftorch and still NO quest progress.
