The questline for Fyr’alath is horrible. It’s so obvious that noone tested it or gave feedback based off it.
The Emerald Dream part of the quest is horrifically grindy. I know that legendary questlines should have a grind, but this is a different kind of grind. The stuff it has you do is draining, boring, buggy and unclear in instruction. Rares don’t spawn often enough to make the quest engaging. Superblooms don’t happen often enough to make it grindable, and the item destruction quest has a 5 minute cooldown…
The following part “to the test” is nearly even more horrible.
The part where you have to catch orbs that are flying is so buggy that Blizzard should be ashamed with the state that it’s in right now.
Players can catch more than 1 orb, but can only make one item for quest prog, the other orb buff just vanishes.
Some players won’t get an orb buff even if they catch and orb.
Sometimes using the item on the axe holder just won’t give progress.
AND THE ITEM HAS A 5 MINUTE COOLDOWN SO YOU HAVE TO MAKE PEOPLE WHO ARE OUT OF THE KINDNESS OF THEIR HEART HELPING YOU GIVE UP OVER AN HOUR OF THEIR OWN TIME SITTING AFK!
This whole questline is horrible. Never leave another chain untested like this ever again. Be ashamed.

Yea but isn’t it all worth while for possibly the weakest legendary we’ve ever had?

But it’s actually quite strong
I mean we had those math magicians show that its only a upgrade over the other fyrakk weapons

I mean, in ilvl and stats alone it’s a huge upgrade for me.

I honestly don’t care about it anymore. I’ve hit the important milestones I set for myself already and have no interest in mythic prog or pushing IO just for the sake of it.
I’ll be raid logging long before I ever see it drop.
Alright I’ll give you that part, it’d be a swell upgrade for me as well
Just feels a little lame that (almost) everyone else just gets their super weapon instantly as a drop lol
I’d be honest if they just let me use the weapon without effects for not doing the questlines I would do it.
Most of the power of the weapon comes from the ilvl I could care less about the cantrips.
My guess is the more people will get it the more “feedback” about it will get out as it’s a pretty terrible legendary and questline.
Yep. The quest is awful.
Massively time gated by forcing the player to either make themselves available in hourly intervals or miss events delaying their progress.
Randomly assigning awakened elements and putting a 5m cooldown which when used earns you only 5% progress on the quest so I ended up just standing out front of the AH for nearly 1.5 hours checking in every 5 mins to see what element i need to buy next.
All that on top of the ashtray extremely low drop chance just to start the quest.
It’s also gated behind a large expense for all the materials. 330,000 gold it cost me for all the mats. So your forced into investing more time grinding for mats through farming and professions or giving blizzard more money in the form of wow tokens.
I like the idea of a quest with a bit of lore. Bit of material gathering and a boss fight to end it. But the current state of this quest chain has no respect for players time and very quickly killed the buzz of getting the drop in raid.

Our DK finished the quest within a day of getting it.
Not sure if I would really call that excessively grindy.
Maybe ask the DK how much fun it was? It is way worse than the evoker one and i have done both. Got the ax done in 9 hours of farming, so yeah less than a day. But doing 9 Superblooms to get those items and killing 30 plus rares and randomly disenchanting 15 or so epics on a 5 min cooldown is not exactly a good time. The waste 10 Awakened elements on a 5 min cooldown is a super cool fun time too. Trust me this one is just a complete relief to have finished at the end. Just a mind numbing super boring when is this going to end grind. But you do get a shiny ax with a horrible on use effect for all the effort.

Definitely is not, the evoker legendary was much weaker.
It’s not the time needed to complete that i have the issue with. It’s the utter lack of engaging content.
Superbloom was already incredibly boring, having to do that 10+ times makes it even more so.
And then standing in valkdraken clicking an item, running to an auctioneer, running to the mailbox, and then waiting 4.5 mins for the item to come off cooldown and having to repeat that 20 times over the next 100 minutes is just garbage.
I’d be happy spending 8-10 hours or more on the quest if it was actually engaging and/or challenging content.
