He feels like a discount Deathwing tbh. And Deathwing wasn’t well-received as a villain to begin with. They’re both slightly better than the Jailer. And we all can agree that even Hogger is a better villain than the Jailer.

I didn’t spend as much time on the forums in Cata, but iirc, the issue with Deathwing was:
- Thrall stole our kill
- The actual fight was perceived as popping his backne, which was incredibly underwhelming considering WHO Deathwing is to the player character.

Deathwing as a boss was not well received, because the fights were bad.
Deathwing as a villain was probably at least better received than that. It’s not like he just showed up in the final Raid.

Yeah, current Blizzard writers are very terrible at writing villains. Like the Jailer, nothing about Fyrakk makes me care about anything he has to say. Not his upbringing, not his reasonings, not anything really. He’s just another loot table I expect to scream some stuff before his death like, “FOOOLISH WORMS, I am a GOD and stuffs, I will take great pleasure in killing yoooou!” Then as he dies, “Sister! I-… uuuuuuuugh.” -loot sparkles-

TBH we haven’t really had a lot of good villains lately. Been feeling like Saturday Morning Cartoons since Denathrius.
Why did the first boss of SL have more character development and player interaction than the main boss of the expansion.

Fyrakk feels more like a second raid boss… not final boss in expansion.
So underwhelming but not surprised by this team.

Deathwing was a good villian, he was just underused in Cata after Twilight Highlands and disappeared from the story which was a result of Arthas showing up too much in Wrath and twirling his mustache and not just obliterating us at every opportunity. People didn’t like how overused Arthas was so Deathwing was under used. Although Deathwing flying over zones randomly and deep breathing them was pretty epic.

Personally I think he was a letdown. The way he went around everywhere so randomly and never stopping in one place for long almost felt like he was doing something, or running from something? Dude couldn’t even be bothered to fly a couple hundred feet and incinerate Nordrassil himself. Nope, just quickly summon Ragnaros and then bugger off. That’ll do the trick.
But no. Turns out he’s just insane and has no logical reasons.
Sure, but anime tentacle monster was his jumping the shark moment.

He is a loot pinata, or rather the unpronounceable follower that acts as the boss for the week is that. I couldn’t be any more checked out, it’s just the suffusion gear that makes me do it.
Oh and I got an achievement for flying too close to him and dying. That was kind of funny as I’m not sure what I could have done other than go back the other way and no way was I doing that.
