Fuzzy text on login

I just got an m1 MacBook Pro and upon initial login the general UI text is fuzzy. If I run a /console gxrestart it clears up the low resolution text. I tried opening a technical support case, but support told me my system was unsupported. Is this a known bug?

I’m not familiar with the m1 yet but try changing the window size in wow away from default over to 2k or 4K it might help.

That’s the weird part. Changing resolution doesn’t affect the text size. In fact changing the resolution doesn’t flicker the screen. Only restarting the graphics engine does it.

It is possible the game isn’t fully m1 native yet that certain aspects still use rosseta but I’m not 100% sure. This is gonna take some digging.

Ok, I think I have it sorted. So my m1 mac is hooked to an external 4k display that I leave in the default scaling mode. This emulates 1920x1080 resolution. When I login to warcraft, even if I have forced 2560x1440 in the past, the default UI looks like the low res scaled font i.e. blizzard’s 1080p. I found this post from rommax Low Resolution - #30 by Rommax-1333 and just set the config to override the detected resolution for fullscreen and that seems to work w/o having to /console gxrestart on every login to make the fonts not look so low resolution.

I wish the rendered world nameplates looked better with under 100percent scaling, but I have this running well enough that I’m happy at this point.
