Since Classic has done well financially for Blizzard, I assume they want to keep the money train going into TBC and maybe Wrath. My question is - assuming we get TBC, do you think TBC would be fresh toons only or will they allow transfers from Classic?
The reason I ask is that it would affect which toons I focus on. For example, I know that I want to main a shaman in TBC. If TBC requires fresh toons, then I’d wait to roll a new shaman in TBC and focus on my priest in Classic. I can’t get both due to RL commitments.

Just play the class you want to play. No one knows what the future brings for classic besides the content plan that has already been set.

We have no earthly idea what the plan is, but we could speculate.
I could see 1 time copies or transfers to tbc servers being a thing. It would be hugely unpopular if we COULDN’T bring our classic character to classic tbc, so this seems the most likely.
But I would totally understand if they wanted the entire experience to be as fresh as possible. As long as they use patch 2.4 xp values so 1-60 isn’t a total slog lol

If that’s the case, just focus on leveling your shaman when you aren’t raiding/pvping on your priest. You’ve got 2 years to get to 60. And remember that gear doesn’t matter because hellfire greens are better than all but naxx raid gear.
What I would expect, is one free Xfer to the BC server from a Classic server. Anymore then that would likely come with a fee attached, as Blizz is a business and they like money. No server transfers from a ‘retail’ to a BC server.
Lord I hope BC comes out next year. Would love to see it announced in the summer with a Holiday release.

I hope you stay on Classic when BC comes out sir as Blizz said BC would be easier for them to do now, and that it would be up to us as to if they would do BC. Guess what most people are clamoring for? Toodles, and you may want to brush your teeth to get that urine smell off your breathe.
I hope they allow transfers to tbc and then on to wrath, free or not. Im still loving classic atm, but another year and Ill prolly be done with it. I got about 6 toons each in ally and horde, Id like to get all those leveled, do some raiding and then be ready to move on. I would love it if they just upgraded the classic servers and we got to experience opening the gate and all that again, but I doubt that would happen.
We’ll probably have to start from scratch. Since Alliance will be getting Shaman and Horde will be getting Paladins, the content will be balanced around this. If you just let people copy characters over, Alliance will have no lvl 60 shaman and Horde will have no lvl 60 paladins.

Spitting on his like for TBC is just as bad as folks yelling “You’ll never get Vanilla!” all that time ago.
it would give people who played classic an unfair advantage because they’d only have to level 60-70. which would not be fair for any alliance shaman or horde pallies, as you said. people are too lazy to level a new toon to play tbc and want to ruin classic servers by making tbc servers an expansion to classic are just selfish. people have been asking for classic only servers since tbc.
TBC servers should be their own thing. Even if you wanted it to continue with the same character, they should let you just copy the character to the new TBC realm of your choice.
But yeah, everybody shoud have to start over from level 1 IMO. That’s the fairest way.
that makes no sense, originally if you wanted the new class you had to lvl once BC launched, no big deal.
