Future Scarlet Crusade Locations

Pretty sure the Scarlet Crusade was eradicated in Cataclysm.

And by eradicated, I mean turned into undead (the very thing they fought against) and then defeated by adventurers. So essentially they’re double-dead.

That said, I love the concept for the faction and think they could always come back if a lone survivor began recruiting again. Maybe as antagonists for Calia Menethil and the “New Era” Forsaken?

I would actually love it if Whitemane was capable of breaking away from Bolvar’s control and resume her duties as High Inquisitor of the Crusade.

First, without the Helm of Domination, one can assume all undead is completely autonomous now. Second, Whitemane was literally capable of TRUE RESURRECTION of HERSELF! Like… the power she wielded with the Light has to rival Velen at that point, right? True Resurrection seems to me like, the pinnacle of what Light Wielders can achieve, and being able to perform that on yourself is a bit insane.

Considering that, breaking away from the influence of the Lich King seems very much within her capacity, even -with- the Helm of Domination.

I mean, they’re mad scientists, which has its stereotypical affiliation with World War Two, and I’m at lest 70% confident I’m not pulling that out my butt.

There’s also real life uses of chemical warfare in the modern age, torture, brainwashing.

Like even at the lightest interpretation, they’re part of the edgelord starter park, along with demon hunters, warlocks, and male blood elves.

gasp A person with a comprehensive understanding of history! Especially where things like The Crusades and communism are concerned!

They took hits in Cata, but they last of them were wiped out in Legion by Death Knights. Now only the Scarlet Onslaught and Scarlet Brotherhood are left.

There was a country lead by someone who wanted to make great and serious change that was at bloody war with itself, a war that brought much death and maimed its participants, with ramifications that we still face now. Someday, there will be a movie about this leader where he carries a giant axe that he kills his foes with, the despicable vampires who wanted to harvest the blood of his citizens, with a sidekick who wears a cool leather jacket. There was a skyline forever changed by idealogues who held their beliefs so true that they would die for them, and they would make the people they kidnapped die for them, while their families watched on TV as that skyline crumbled with the weight of the victims. Someday, there will be a broadway play about the jovial airplane passengers who all sing in tune, about hope for a glorious future fueled by the results of their unfortunate demise, while they dance in their seats and along the aisles.

That day is today.

Both of you should read a book, or several.

I will be annoyed if the “suprise guest” that helps take down the Defias for the human heritage armour ends up being these guys.

How to engage with History and writing:

  • What Is History? by Carr
  • The Content of the Form: Narrative Discourse and Historical Representation
  • The Houses of History: A Critical Reader in History and Theory
  • Inventing Reality: The Politics of the Mass Media
  • Inventing Reality: The Politics of News Media

On Mustache Underlings:

  • The End: The Defiance and Destruction of Hitler’s Germany, 1944-1945
  • Female SS Guards and Workaday Violence: The Majdanek Concentration Camp, 1942-1944
  • Harvest of Despair: Life and Death in Ukraine under N@azi Rule
  • Of course I’ll take questions for specific policy/other areas as able

On Historical Communism: (There could be so, so much more)

  • Blackshirts and Reds, Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism
  • A great Reddit primer - particularly the inaccuracies of the Black Book of Communism
  • Why Women Have Better Sex Under Socialism: And Other Arguments for Economic Independence
  • Khrushchev’s Cold Summer: Gulag Returnees, Crime, and the Fate of Reform after Stalin
  • Stalinist Perpetrators on Trial: Scenes from the Great Terror in Soviet Ukraine
  • Socialist Fun: Youth, Consumption, and State-Sponsored Popular Culture in the Soviet Union, 1945–1970
  • Soviet Internationalism after Stalin: Interaction and Exchange between the USSR and Latin America during the Cold War
  • Again, of course I’ll take questions for specific policy/other areas as able

On the Crusades: (less of an area of study)

  • The Crusades: Islamic Perspectives
  • The First Crusade and the Idea of Crusading
  • The Race for Paradise: An Islamic History of the Crusades

Given that I only provided very narrow historical examples that are observably true and settled matters of history, I think it is far more likely that the issue isn’t my education, but rather, your own ideological possession.

That would be… oof, no good. I was expecting Vanessa Vancleef. That’d be an ugly turn to force the player to fight alongside the Scarlet Crusade for something.

I’m guessing / hoping those are just trading post transmog options.

Not only does it have the colors and iconography of the Scarlet Crusade, but it looks like it is the same style as Garithos’ armor LOL

Oh for the love of the elements, at least that is one transmog(if it goes to the trading post) I am not buying.

Tbh, considering how many human-themes mogs there are, I wouldn’t be mad if this was the human heritage armor set.

I mean… do we really need another Gold and Blue human footman set? At least this would be unique, and what better human set than something modelled off this guy:

Right… you keep telling yourself that. The historiography is there for the taking, surface level at that. If you refuse to engage in it, thats your own problem and ignorance.

Very presumptuous of you to think I haven’t already. I have different worldview than you, so surely I must be uneducated, right? It couldn’t be that I have immersed myself in the same material and drawn a different conclusion? No… That would be impossible.

Must be nice to be able to go through life like that.

A lot of high level vanilla Scarlet mobs had helmets with the wings like that. So did the SFK Deathsworn Captain, before Cata. He actually looked like a human Captain from WC3.

Im the presumptuous one?

The history is there and you seemingly refuse to engage with it in a real manner creating this false idea of what is and is not. These aren’t blog posts of a 17 year old but rather PhDs with direct knowledge and study. No, ‘oh, I’ll check some of those out.’ or ‘here is what I’m going off of’ as academic debate often goes.

But hey, people can be wrong and hold incorrect knowledge about well studied areas. So no real shock here.

Yes, what I said wasn’t directed to anyone here. You seem to -only- have something to say when you have the opportunity to lord over someone else.

It seems to be the primary reason you are here, I rarely see you actually contribute to a discussion about WoW or WoW lore in any good faith capacity. You seem like the kind of person who wakes up their family just to tell them you’re going to sleep.

I miss the old Vanilla Scarlet Crusade. They were actually interesting villains back then. Before Wrath and Cata turned them into complete jokes of an organization
