The sad part is i could fix all of those runes easily.
Sniper training no longer gives bonus crit. Instead while the buff is active you gain 1% total mana as mana regen per second.
This turns it into a mana regen rune which makes the use of other abilities in our dps rotation useable because if we keep high uptime on this (30% or more) it would remove our issue with mana in pve.
Kill command. Just change it to tbc kill command. 10 times better.
Flanking strike, make it also passively give raptor strike 20% move speed for 2 seconds after use. This just makes melee weaving feel so much better as it helps you get back to range to not delay auto shot much more reliably without requiring the world buff.
Wow. Just made all 3 runes feel so much better.

The biggest issue with Sniper Training is the activation time. In both PvE and PvP youâre rarely able to stand still long enough to activate it, and if you do manage to stand still for 6 seconds, youâre gonna have to move very soon. The up time on it is terrible pretty much always.
Even if it activated in 2-3 seconds and applied to Auto Shot itâd still be worse than most class runes. For example, Priests get Prayer of Mending, the most mana efficient healing spell in the entire game that does 50%+ of their healing in any given raid / group PvP encounter, and Homunculus, which is an insane raid utility skill and also enables them to solo pretty well, even as a healing spec.
Literally game changing options. The Hunter runes are so bad in comparison itâs actually comical.
Yes, and if it has a high activation cost/condition it should have a massive benefit.
But we have to keep burst damage and such in mind as well. We cant make those aspects of the hunter to good (and MM spec does have good burst, especially with wind serpent burst being what it is as well now).
So my opinion on this is make sniper training a massive mana regen buff for standing still. With the suggestion i gave above it would offer the equivalent of 50 mana per 5 with keeping the buff active for a 1k mana pool. That is a lot of mana per 5 for lvl 25. But it gives its mana every second so if you can only stabd still for 6 seconds you would still get 10 mana back for it (it would start giving the mana regen the moment buff activates), 20 at 7 seconds and so on. This is assuming a mana pool of 1k. Mana pools go up a good bit at later levels of gear. This also makes intellect a better stat for hunters (still not a focused stat but better) and opens up the mana pool of the hunter for more active play. Using arcane shot, serpent sting, even volley when mana permits (and hopefully they all gain some scaling as well from later runes).
that would be pretty sweet but they would need to change the name of the rune to âfocusâ or âin the zoneâ rune hehe
Or just give us aspect of the viper run to give us mana on all shots back
good stuff all around, i really like the new mana regen rune
just made a new phase 1 rune changes section on the original post!
I would add to sniper training that after using aimed shot you gain sniper training. This way you can get the buff the normal way thru standing still, or if you are a mm you can use aimed shot to put it up. Add in a fact of it lingering on you for afew seconds after you start moving an it should be okay.
FGor lone wolf I would tie different bonuses to it based on what aspect you have up. So if you have up aspect of the monkey you gain more tanking/defensive bonuses, while if you have hawk up it gives you more ranged offensive bonuses, while as we go into getting more aspects you could see something like aspect of the beast giving bonus melee damage/ap.
I really want to see a leg rune or just a change to a rune that makes Hunterâs mark give melee ap, while also making mongoose bite an counter attack more realiable to use outside of soloing. Like that while hunterâs mark is active your any time the marked target has an attack blocked/parried/dodged it procs our mongoose/counter attack. Add in that now they deal weapon damage +their normal damage (maybe mongoose bite now also does a dot effect).
If it was not for the fact that throwing weapons are an afterthought/meme, i would love a rune that makes a throwing weapon build much like the Troll axethrowers in WC2 or ZulâJin in HOTS!
