Clearly i generated more threat as deep prot than he did as furyprot - no world buffs on either.

Hakkar might be literally the worst boss to judge TPS on, because of the constant MCs and tank swaps and all that jazz.

Your playstyle is also different in a huge way. You sundered twice as Fury/Prot even though it’s better threat than HS, and a bunch as real Prot. Add on the 15% extra threat because of Defiance, and take away Deep Wounds/Impale (probably) that Mayatau mentioned.

And most of all, don’t compare threat by just 1 picture. There are a bunch of other factors that can easily affect things in a huge way that are obscured by the fact that a picture is used instead of a log. And most importantly, RNG is RNG, and 2 fights total is a terrible sample size on which to judge TPS.

Thats not me, thats our guilds ot, and i think i just found out why i keep pulling threat from him recently. I think he changed his spec to full fury because he ot’s and wants higher numbers therefore needs impale.

Broodlord is probably the hardest hitting boss in classic right now. IE: the exception not the rule

HS doesnt keep you from sundering since it doesnt use a Gcd, you do both. Our fury warriors often sunder as well at the start to get to 5 stacks faster. And at 5 stacks as fury prot sunder really isnt efficient threat gen relative to your other tools.

I dont believe that to be true. Firemaw with a wicked thrash multi hit with it crushing into a melee and shadowflame will wrecked any tank.

If your melee are getting hit by firemaw you’re doing something really wrong. Thrash is really only a threat on the pull. Shadow flame can be mitigated and has a cast time.

MS is instant and a much bigger threat to the tank than anything firemaw does.

Naw ms is hitting ppl for around 4kish. Thrash can do 6k and these ppl are wearing FR gear.

Hakkar is not a boss that gives you infinite rage. Because of that, tanks have to choose what they spend their rage on. Rage spent on HS is rage not spent on Sunder and vice versa.

We have more tanks get 1 hit quit on Firemaw than we do brood.

Again… Thrash is awfully rare outside of a pull, and either way it’s not just about how hard MS hits… I dunno if you know this or not but it applies this debuff thing as well…

If I’m not mistaken…

Sunder Armor is your primary rage dump when Bloodthirst and Revenge are on cooldown. You’re usually only queuing a Heroic Strike to remove the dual wield hit penality, only letting it land if you have enough rage to do all of those things and Heroic Strike.

Of course if you’re basically rage capped constantly (happens on a lot of fights if you don’t wear excessive amounts of mitigation), you’re just button mashing non-stop. lol

If thrash hits for 6k, MS doesn’t hit for 4k

I mean my server 1st guild seems to be doing ok. So no. I’m telling it how it is. Firemaw thrashes alot esp when getting taunted off of and snapped back to the main tank.

I believe Thrash only occurs when attacks are being stored. That should only happen if the boss is moving, which shouldn’t be happening if you do the fights correctly.

I will say that raid healers often get a pass for being terrible. The problem is parses say they are top 90% even though the off tank dies on a regular basis. I had this problem also until our 2 raid teams were condensed into 1.

All of the sudden, my 9khp bear with 75% mitigation starts surviving… imagine that.
