Fury warrior weapon options. please

My alt warrior . human. 70.
I have a few weapons but not the ideal ones available…
I am fury.
I can’t figure out my best DPS set to run.
My weapon options are.
The Decapitator - Prince Main hand only 92.1DPS AXE
Spiteblade - 1H 87.6 DPS sword.
Latro’s - 1H 71.8 DPS sword
Emerald Ripper - 1H Dagger 87.5 DPS

my only 2H option would be despair.

I have been using decapitator MH
and spite blade off hand as they are my highest DPS weapons.
I dont like using the spite blade in OH as it seems to slow.
Should i swap OH to ripper? or just go to latros even though its severely lower in DPS

First I’ve heard of a warrior not wanting Spiteblade

You’re a human, so you don’t want to use axes if you can help it. You also forgot about the 1H mace that drops from illhoof.

You also do want 2 slow 1h weapons. Your whirlwind hits with both weapons, so a slow offhand with higher dps = higher whirlwind damage.

I have seen some good warriors using a dagger in the offhand, but I think thats for single target fights and purely for the expertise/attack speed for rage generation.

Stick with 2 slow 1H weapons. Get rid of that axe as you aren’t taking advantage of human racial. Try and get the mace off ilhoof or the sword from tidewalker, OR another spiteblade (they aren’t unique and you can wield 2 of’em).

As a human, you want swords. This means 2 spiteblades or 1 with horseman blade. Better yet, do the arena and get gladiator slicers. When it comes to off hand speed, faster is nicer vs single target but slower will beat it out whenever you use whirlwind. I would suggest just equipping the top DPS in off hand and not worrying about speed.

Are you open to leveling blacksmithing? The crafted Mace is really good. Easy to craft the first iteration and the second is 2 primal mights and 8 nethers.

You could also try for Hope Ender. Drops off one of the world bosses.

I’m rocking the 2nd crafted mace and Hope Ender on my warrior alt and it’s really good.

Human - Sword Racial

Warrior - Sword talents

Spiteblade - 1H 87.6 DPS sword - main hand
Latro’s - 1H 71.8 DPS sword - offhand (expertise makes this BiS)

You’re welcome

Just get 2 weapons and push your buttons. Most people are skill-capped enough for it to not matter all that much anyway.

2 slow weapon is a lack of understanding how attack normalization works. The only case we’re having 2 slow weapon is ever slightly beneficial is when sweeping strikes is up on trash

The only factor worth considering for offhand is weapon DPS, stats and weapon type.

With normalization a 1.6 speed 100dps weapon and 2.7 speed and 100 DPS weapon will hit the same damage with whirldwind. As long as they are swords/maces or axes. They will do damage as if they were 2.4 speed weapon .
Daggers will do as if they were 1.7

For bosses faster offhand weapon will even perform slightly better !

Daggers are not really good weapon la, with the exception of Fang of vashj OH ,bosses only.
You can safely go ahead and vendor that dagger

As a human Warrior spiteblade and latros will give you a massive boost in expertise almost bringing you over halfway to the expertise cap.
While the decapitate looks speaking with its extra 5-6 DPS the loss of stats is not worth it.

If you are blacksmith dragonstrike will be your bis MH for a long time and is definitely worth the time invested

You seem to not understand how speed normalization works Not all one hands are 1.7 only daggers are it is always optimal to use slow/slow aka non-daggers here is the proper weapon speed normalization table for attacks that are normalized

Daggers: 1.7

One-Hand Weapons: 2.4

Two-Hand Weapons: 3.3

Ranged Weapons: 2.8

hmmm i think you need to read up again what i wrote.

depending on availability, a fast offhand will do exactly the same dps as a slow offhand as long as its not a dagger it even scale slightly better with AP ratios compared to slower weapon and will smooth your rage generation

the only point where it will do a bit less dps is in the case of extra hits, IE: Sweeping strikes OR kebab spec with a sword OH , other than that the ONLY ability that uses offhand is whirlwind and it is normalized at 2.4 so only the dps/weapon type is relevant as long as it is not a dagger

Not only is a fast Offhand with the same DPS/ slightly better than a slow weapon for BOSSES a fast weapon will allow a significantly better execute phase

In Short :
Daggers are always worst than same dps sword/mace/axe
for trash : Slow/Slow is slightly better because of sweeping strikes
for bosses general fight Slow/Fast is BIS DPS/stats is the important factor for OH
for execute phase Fast/Fast is bis Highest dps/Stat and faster AS is BIS

this is true unless you are playing kebab sword spec

This is incorrect.

Say each weapon does 100 DPS and you have another 100 DPS from attack power.

Normalization on instant attacks means both weapons do 100 * 2.4 = 240 extra damage from attack power.

The first weapon does 160 base while the second does 270 base.

This gives a final result of 400 damage for the 1.6 speed weapon and 510 damage for the 2.7 speed weapon (assuming both are 1H swords/maces/axes).

So there is a difference still.

Ah thanks for clarification I thought the whole thing was normalized, base damage as well.

Honestly for off hand it doesn’t mean much of a difference tho.
In this particular scenario over a 3 minute fight you would have 20 whirlwind if cast perfectly on dime.
This means a loss of 2200 damage - 37.5% dual wield offhand penalty it’s 1375 damage loss over 180 seconds.

Considering the a 2.7 vs 1.6 attack speed you would get 37 (46- an average 20% from miss/dodge) extra white swings on offhand
With an adamantite sharpening stone that’s 14.4 extra damage per hit. That’s an extra 533 damage

Meaning over 3 minutes. A 1.6 weapon vs a 2.7 weapon would do 842 less damage. A whole 4.6 DPS loss over 3 minutes. So still proving my point.

DPS+ stats is the key value. Speed is barely relevant except where extra swings are in play

Bonus edit ; if he’s enchanter. The damage differential would be lowered by another 185 damage.
