I am having zero success against this class in pvp whether in a bg or open world.
Anyone have any pearls of wisdom to share about this?
Fury Warriors are actually quite competitive against DHs.
Its how you spec.
Its the usual stay on top of him, trinket stun, make sure to time your Enrage Regen and most importantly… make sure to spec Spell Reflect and only use it once the DH jumps in the air. This does tons of damage.
I dont really think there is much strategy against a DH. Just have to open up well and hopefully your healing carries you over the line.
Hi Darkprime, thanks for the great answer. I do have 1 question for you, what trinket do you speak of when you say to use trinket stun?
The very first pvp talent option is the ability to remove a cc effect (in this case use this ability on his choas nova.) This used to be a pvp trinket.
Its generally best to pick the one you use as you have control of it. But if your like me pick the one that auto removes a cc and call it good enough. Although in this case the DH can cause you to burn it by imprisioning you first then chaos novaing.
Just want to add this - yes you want spell reflect for when he flies into the air. But you also want to save your Storm Bolt for this. Spell reflect alone won’t last long enough to soak all of the hits, so you’ll want to stun him as your spell reflect is wearing off. Rain from above does alot of damage, and you don’t want to soak any of the hits from it. I know it sucks not being able to hit him for half of the stun, but you’re preventing him from doing alot of damage for free, which is crucial.
Besides that look for obvious things…don’t use CDs into his Blur or Darkness, definitely don’t use Enraged Regen during his Blur. When he uses blur just use Intimidating shout and try to kite it out.
Those are the important things I’ve learned when fighting them. It’s still a pretty even match, so don’t expect to win every fight.
Wait, despite what it says you don’t need a shield for it?
A fun fact: you can CC them while they are up in the air as well.
Idk about intimidating shout…
BUT! I usually blind them while they are in the air long enough for it not to matter.
Also, if you were night elf you could just shadowmeld. They won’t be able to target you
No, you don’t need a shield for Spell Reflect anymore.
!!!
Fury can counter a dh and beat them pretty consistently as long as you have your CDs up.
Remember to interrupt eye beam as well. If you make them burn all of their abilities with little value then you can crush them easily. Remember that they wear leather.
Or just step out of the way when they strike the glare pose.
Interrupting the eye beam is huge. Dh is op in the fact they should be taking triple the damage from wearing leather alone to warriors clad in plate
