It’s crazy how poorly fury performs compared to other plate melee in M+. I just ran a +10 Siege, a Templar Ret pally 3 ilvl lower than me (Thane Fury) was able to do 1.62M overall dps vs. my 1.34M overall, he parsed 98 and I parsed 97, so almost exact in terms of player “skill”.
Templar ret is able to do the same burst as me with their 30 sec cd, (wake of ashes/ hammer of light) as I am able to do with all my 1.5 min cds. Sure, if I ran Slayer my burst would be higher, but I would lose even more on the overall. Every pack ret is able to do what I am every 2 or 3.
Idk how blizzard thinks a Ret Pally’s ONE 30 sec cd should be as impactful as a fury warrior popping FOUR 1.5 min cds.

Don’t worry, next week’s patch has more buffs for ret and more nerfs for fury. Wait…

Well were getting nerfed even more with the patch so look forward to that I’m guessing 10.1 will have warrior changes? Who knows.

yeah the balance is so bad across the board. when you consider the utility that ret brings, the low skill floor to actually pump, the ability to do most of your damage from ranged and so on… it makes like no sense
they’ll never nerf it of course. paladin is the most popular class in the game and they want as many as possible subbing to get their anniversary dress set

FYI that parse you see is not in relation to the damage you did in the key, it’s actually comparing the key level and timer that other Fury warriors have done.
That being said the actual damage parse for the key was a 90 for the Ret and a 95 for yourself.
Some sustain dps tuning would be wonderful.

Look, to be blunt you’re complaining about your damage being lacklustre but you’re already not putting in proper effort before the key even starts.
Socket your neck/rings you’re missing 4x gem slots.
Enchant your gear properly with r3 enchants, the market is more stable now with multiple nerfs to rarity of raw materials, get the correct r3 enchants on your gear.
Now to your gameplay, you sit on cooldowns for way too long if you’re wanting to boost your “Overall” throughput in a key smack those on cooldown you’ve easily missed 1-2 casts of Reck/Avatar/Ravager/Your trinket and Roar, alongside 7-9 OF casts below where you probably should’ve been for the key. because you sit on cooldowns for way too long. The only point if ever you sit on cooldowns is just prior to a vuln phase where the boss dmg is required, otherwise you send them on cooldown.
If you want to further boost your “overall” send a talent point off Armoured to the Teeth into Uproar so it’s there for every single OF cast. TR is a solid AoE cooldown and speccing into ST for a slightly higher base AP so you do a smidge more ST at the cost of your overall AoE seems a tad troll since trash is the harder part of keys than bosses for the most part since pugs do not pull around cooldowns like a coordinated group would so you might as well ‘pad’ the numbers a smidge by having an answer on every pack.
We can all always afford to improve our play, and honest truth discussing strategies and techniques is far more compelling, but you commenting on his person is not addressing the premise of his statement. All things held equal, with him parsing relatively well (and, more importantly, within the bounds of his peers), there is a clear gap. Outside his anecdote, the data supports this. We can be satisfied or frustrated or other emotions and outlooks all day, but people making direct, factual observations about foundational capabilities and performance is not the place for you to act annoyed and superior. You are obviously very capable and talented, but even if your personal circumstances allow you some level of clout, as an overall look at the population, categorically there is a problem. If you want to argue about the premise of what defines balance, then sure, but no matter what you think “viability” or “fair” is, there is a clear, noticeable divide in damage potential and group utility, and no amount of “just play better” or “stop letting it bother you” will change it.

You’re right that the data does exist that shows Fury Struggling. But that doesn’t got a lot to do with your attitude or how you engage with the game. Players are finding success with Mountain Thane Fury, or if you’re Critcake a 14 Dawnbreaker as Slayer Fury.
If you enjoy Fury and its playstyle than play it to the best of your ability. If being weak until they buff Fury is something you can’t deal with than leave feedback, and play something else (Doesn’t have to be another class in WoW could literally be anything else).
Sitting around and dooming however doesn’t fix the problem.

Even there we can see Qvra way above and Crit is more geared. Yes, we can have success. Anyone that’s part of a solid team can push 11+.
Both you and Grail are right, there is no point in dooming. Just playing another game till Blizz gets around to fixing things. Or, play to the best of your ability and accept it.

Critcakes said the same thing, nearly every run he does with his mate Ret Pally 4 ilvls lower he cannot beat him.

just reroll, no point in playing warrior right now really
it is like the suicide squad meme
Ret pally does everything I do, but better. : (
not hating on ret, it is more of an example of how war is kinda left in the dust this expansion
war is clunky to play compared to other classes right now (except for maybe BM hunter) and the output isn’t as rewarding, i feel like im working 110% and getting 85% output compared to other classes who are just cruising and chilling and doing more dps, cc, and utility than I am.
Honestly at this point give fury war 25 yard range, we just throw all of our stuff
