Hey guys,
I’m fairly new to the whole warrior class and have mostly played Fury but was wondering if Arms is better for certain occasions than fury?
Are the play styles similar?
Warriors feed back is welcome!

Speaking Strictly PvE you can play which ever you like and get good success up until the upper parts of M+ or Mythic Raiding.
For M+ Fury is better unless uncapped AoE is important (Pulling more than 6 enemies frequently), than Arms pulls ahead just slightly for Overall damage. But in general Fury > Arms for M+.
For Mythic Raid its an encounter by encounter basis. Two targets up for a decent amount of time like in Experiments? Play Arms. Need multi target cleave like on Assualt? Play Fury.
Honestly though at this point for Raid you could play either spec and largely find success.
At the end of the day though you’re always going to perform best on whatever spec you find to be more fun. Unless my friends are really tryharding in M+ a lot of the time I just play Arms.
As my guildmate would say to you, play the spec that you enjoy the most.
Both are good in PvE. Arms can still push over the target cap in Cleave/Bladestorm builds for M+, has vastly stronger 2-target cleave, and much higher Execute damage. With Ignore Pain it’s pretty sturdy these days, but it still crutches on Windfury more than it should.
On the flip side, Fury has better survival in general, and sacrifices very little to add cleave into its rotation. I can survive Mythic Echo’s most devastating mechanics with just a Spell Reflection (and sometimes a Defensive Stance swap).
Going to largely come down to play style. Both are perfectly fine for M+ and raiding. The big choice you should ask your self is do you want blast 140 apm(fury) or be more inline with other classes around 50-70 apm(arms)?
I have carpel tunnel and play fury and on a long raid night my god its painful, you literally have to always be pressing something, you will not go a GDC without pushing 1-3 buttons. However out of any class I’ve ever played in wow Fury is just so smooth and fun to play I will probably never play another class.
I prefer arms simply because i dont like dual wielding. But the smoothness of fury is undeniable
This is why we need an arms rework imo
Arms has always been more of a PvP spec. I don’t like or understand why they are trying to make Fury work in PvP.
That’s an old way of thinking that x is the overall spec and y is the pve spec. Blizzard tries to make each spec viable for both pvp and pve
For me i go Arms if i play DPS War…fury is very… disguting since some years(Fan of SMF)
Arms is way more enjoyable playstyle …especialy aoe if you get decent gear( stats).
Fury is just spammy bs.
