Fury - Team Annihilator

I like the annihilator build. Hope its tuned enough to be usable in DF.

I haven’t messed with that build yet. Just started reading up on it, mainly just to see what’s different about it.

What do you like about it?

What do you think it does better than the rb build?

Slows fury down a bit to wear it plays like Arms. You don’t have to mash keys with it and it looks cool auto attacking real fast.

So it’s a playstyle that isn’t totally carpal tunnel-inducing? Sounds interesting. Does it have rage issues like arms historically has?

not really still mostly gcd capped since the cd on BT got dropped to 3 sec and added slam, which also gens rage, to the rotation. the rotation feels mostly smooth and reminds me a little bit of how fury played in Cata.

My thoughts exactly when playing it. My hands don’t hurt. Its smooth and enjoyable. Not raged starved. Damage might be a bit lacking still so it will need buffs.

I’ve tried it out and it seems weak but I’d have to do more testing.

I hope it’s good. It sounds fun, maybe simplify things a bit.

Add daggers for more Rage >:)

I love Annihilator, but even at 25-30% haste you hit dead time with no attack ability to press. Currently the Fury talent “Blood and Thunder” is a dead talent due to increased rage cost, not having Rend, and saving rage for Rampage. I would love for Blood and Thunder for Fury to instead make Thunderclap cost no rage so that it could be used as a filler in Annihilator build.

isn’t the annihilator build similar apm to the rb build? how does it slow down the rotation at all lol

The windows of no attack ability to press are small, but noticeable for me. Right now in pre patch, it’s not as terrible as it will be in the first patch or two of Dragonflight as we’ll lose a large amount of secondary stat % compared to 9.2.5 gear. Another kind of dead talent for Annihilator is “Honed Reflexes” in the class tree, it reduces the cooldown of Raging Blow and Pummel by 1.0 second, and doesn’t change when you take Annihilator, which is fine to skip it or take it just for pummel reduction, but I’d prefer it reducing the cooldown of Slam and Whirlwind by 1.0 second when Annihilator is taken. So Honed Reflexes and Blood and Thunder could be modified to address the dead windows for those who want higher APM, or you could avoid those talents and enjoy a slower pace. My opinion anyway.

This build is sadly not even close to as good as other builds. Averaging about 25% less DPS with it, over other builds that use Raging Blow.

annihilator doesn’t really get better until 70. its kind of a waste right now

It does feel a lot better at 70 on Beta, but still lags behind a few other builds. Very beginner friendly. There is a way to make it very competitive, if not better, but it requires expert timing that only cutting edge Mythic raiders might have, and not fun at all for someone that doesn’t eat, sleep, and breathe Warrior 24/7.

annihilator build with Single minded fury…yummy!

As an update to the Annihilator build on most sites like wowhead snd icyveins:

For M+, the build is actually MORE complicated than the standard Raging Blow build because you are replacing raging blow not with the autoattacks, but with the increased incentive to weave Slam AND whirlwind into your rotation, so you are actually ADDING a button to your optimal rotation when selecting annihilator over raging blow.

Verdicts still out on which is “better” but so far it looks like the standard RB will still edge it out, especially true in the prepatch and pre-70 gameplay as you cannot reach Anger Management until later.

You are pretty much replacing raging blow with slam, and pressing that button less often. And using WW just as often.
