Fury or Arms warrior leveling

I recently decided on playing warrior for classic. I have been reading on what is the best spec for lvling arms or fury and it seems that either is viable but im curious which is better.

I leveled one partially to 40 or so as fury and it was easy on a pserver but there you could /sit to proc enrage and blizz said this wont work in classic.

If it matters my buddy and i took 8 days off for launch to go hard and hes playing a druid so he will heal as needed. i have read arms if solo and fury if you have a heal. I think we will also be on a pvp server (to my disdain) if that matters.

Also if you have what you think are best leveling spec id be interested to see those too.

Thanks in advance!

Either is fine and basically equal. Just as long as it’s not Prot.

Edit: I’m talking 2H Fury, btw.

Arms.

Fury was a noob trap and why many people act like warrior was hard to level.

Arms has PvP application as well due to Mortal Strike.

PVP server go arms for stance dance @ 36 or just level with it. Arms has more aoe due to sweeping strikes, and Whirlwind swapping.

Fury PVE server. The + dmg from enrage is still pretty great, and you’re not double pulling a whole lot as a warrior unless you got a pocket healer, Arms will net you 5% hit as well as fury,

Arms is insane from 30 to ~45 if you can get the whirlwind axe at L30 or close to it. The +5% crit from axe talent in arms is huge. In vanilla arms warriors lived and died by crits and nothing beat a big slow axe in that department. At all levels arms was best for pvp from 10 to 60. At 60 fury is better for sustainable dps, but while leveling arms is better.

Both work fine and you aren’t going to notice much of a difference.

But here’s how I’d nske the choice.

If you plan to multipull(you should with a healer) then arms has far superior AOE with sweeping strikes.

If you don’t, then fury is marginally better.

/sit then crit has been nerfed. Arms wins hands down.

Ok thats where i was leaning too. Guess i am going arms.

Is imp heroic strike better or the +parry?

Tell me how. I’m talking 2H Fury, btw.

+Parry most likely, heroic strike you won’t really ever use unless the odd dungi boss or something really till later on + parry for more surviablity is better Heroic strike eats your next swing rage and also will use 15 of it.

If you give me a level you like i can post it for you here

Most likely he means because you won’t get Flurry Bloodcraze and Enrage on command, i assume? Though piercing howl is very underrated.

Oh, I understand that part. However, for anything but endgame PVP, 2H Fury is as good as Arms and I don’t even take the Enrage bug into consideration. Arms is more straightforward and Fury is more finesse, but they are about on par for leveling. I’m not talking DW Fury as that requires good endgame weapons to really shine.

I mained a warrior back in Vanilla and I experimented with this a lot.

I had this feeling that Fury should be stronger than Arms while leveling, but I could never get a Fury spec to do more than my Arms spec. Arms was always faster for me to level with all the way to 60.

It wasn’t until I had been at end game for a while and really geared before Fury became stronger in PvE for me. For PvP, Arms, always Arms.

Yeah i think arms is better with the /sit macro not procing enrage. So im going to go with arms.

Fury has a lot of benefits that arms can’t have: flurry, reduced cast time on slam, deathwish, 25 sec cooldown on intercept, free 10 rage every 30 secs, full enrage and reduced cost executes.

Arms gets improved hamstring, MS, weapon specialization, sweeping strikes (used to proc off of cleave but doesn’t anymore).

The biggest benefit to arms is MS. Fury puts out more burst and has a lot more rage. Play how you want as with a healer you are going to blow things up regardless, unless you are facing a naxx geared warrior tank where the 50% chance to apply MS will be extremely valuable.

Time it on a special attack and it’s a free proc still.

They’e both okay but I prefer fury. Piercing Howl is too good. Imp Slam really speeds up the 30-40 range. I also hate how going arms pigeonholes you into 1 weapon type. Once you outlevel the WW Axe there is a wide variety of strong weapons to use.
