There’s no other way to put it. Useless during incorporeal and afflicted, terrible damage compared to most specs, bad group utility, (commanding shout…hooray?), no lust, no battle rez…good lord, this is just terrible.
I play a 3k io windwalker monk and the gap between fury warriors and other specs in terms of M+ value is bordering on the absurd. I know the rotation (3 buttons, how couldn’t I) I know the stat weights, and every M+ encounter like the back of my hand but this spec is just utterly useless compared to nearly everything else. You’d think they’d give us impressive damage since we lack utility but nope, Ret paladin’s, WW, and DH do everything we can do but with 2 times the output.
How on earth can it be this bad? Every other class is a better option than warrior, even for Prot spec. LOLOL Blizzard, gg, you got us.
It’s kind of only brutal in PUGs, due to our lack of utility. If you can tailor a group around having a DPS warrior, we can time 30s. Directly compared to Windwalkers, we’re actually doing quite a bit better at the top end, likely due to our survival capability.
At this point, I’d really like our target cap buffed, or our damage inside the target cap buffed.
3k isn’t that impressive this season. I’m 3k and I don’t push keys.
Is that why you have Haste enchants instead of Mastery or Versatility? Is that why you’re using Haste Gems instead of Mastery & Versatility gems? Is that also the reason you don’t have embellishments or the raid helm enchant?
Like trust me, I know I can go re-roll ret Paladin and have an easier time in most things. But its also not so bad that you can’t time 30 keys or push for 1% title on Warrior.
Start by fixing your enchants & Gems, get some embellishments, and make sure you actually know your rotation (Doubtful).
Thank you, now point out where I said it was impressive. You’re putting words in my mouth, and unfortunately your comment only gets worse from here.
You’re absolutely kidding me, right? Embellishments and incandescent essence? That 1.5 - 2% damage percent increase would still make fury warrior one of the worst melee specs in M+. Do you live under a rock? Read what I said. It’s not only about maxing your min-max with stats, it’s the utter lack of utility that you seemingly skimmed over.
Wait until I tell you that M+ isn’t raiding, and there are a bunch of situational “rotations” based on what pull you’re doing. Stay doubtful, you don’t know how the game even works.
Steelson, there are receipts online of your performance in keys that others have logged and they don’t show you doing as well as you think you are doing for a fury warrior that anyone can find.
Embellishments add up a decent amount since yes they’re a small % but they also put you in onto gear that’s going to be better itemised.
You’re also most likely seeing issues with your Mirror messing up what you should be changing your gear to assuming you’re doing a top gear sim for each upgrade piece as opposed to simming stat weights and not understanding the data presented to you.
Given you’re limited to dungeon only gear as opposed to raid gear i would do the following.
2x Crafted Rings @ 486 Master/Vers on both.
2x Crafted Weapons @486 Mastery/Vers on both.
2x Embellishments of double shadowflame on any of the slots Wrist/Cloak/Belt. Alternatively slot in Allied Wristguards for an AoE increase/defensive increase.
Bin your mirror trinket for the on use from tides, macro this into your avatar for ease of use.
CSB while a solid trinket for prolonged fights tends to fall flat in keys, if you can get any of the other solid fury trinkets you’ll perform better.
Raid helmet enchant is a must as well, every increase matters you being stubborn in not getting it is just putting yourself behind.
Tighten up your rotation because your performance from what i can see on WCL isn’t up to snuff for your gear level.
You’ve still got a while to go my guy, min/maxing a spec for content is apart of the dungeon pushing experience and knowing how to do this well will enable you to play any spec you enjoy at a high level regardless of the established meta, since there are always group comps that people can fit in that compete with the ‘god comp’ people attach themselves to.
My haste isn’t 49%. It’s way lower than that, not sure why the character page shows inaccurate stats.
I appreciate the advice, but it’s extremely odd that people are assuming that I’m min-maxing and claiming to be a 1% parser. Are you okay? Are you misreading something?
Your advice is welcome, but please reread my post carefully and understand that the gist of the message is our damage doesn’t make up for severe lack of utility in keys. Again, I’ll emphasize that your response is appreciated, but I think it’s mind-blowing that people will read everything BUT the original post.
The main point is literally that our underperforming damage compared to the high amount of viable stronger specs makes the experience as a warrior in M+ an unnecessarily uphill climb, especially when you factor in warriors being last to chosen on weeks with Incorporeal or Afflicted. I’m not the first person to mention this, and I won’t be the last. Trust me. If you severely lack awareness, you won’t know this is a recurring problem from Blizzard, but made far worse within the last year due to the combination of low utility and comparatively low damage.
Reading comprehension. It’s important. Thanks for letting me know about “receipts”, but maybe I should print out a receipt for the original post? Keep it with you please!
100% agree there shouldn’t be any affix that set classes or specs cannot do, incorporeal and afflicted are something we don’t have the tools to prevent basically everyone who plays the game knows this. Incorp is more of an issue than afflicted.
Afflicted’s issue is healers being lazy primadonnas with their new affix wanting others to do it for them, hence the community’s focus on having additional dispellers during those weeks. However in set groups with a healer with a working brain this isn’t an issue at all, this is only a community made issue in pugs. Filter out the bad healers and this affix doesn’t need everyone to deal with it in a key.
This you?
Saying how you’re the bee’s knees and that people are doing 2x your damage as other classes. With the way you’ve been playing, gearing and ignoring damage increases you can obtain by playing content no wonder you’re being dumpstered in dungeons by others putting in the effort to get those crafted pieces and additional enchants.
But the problem is the spec, and not what’s between the keyboard and the chair?
The biggest benefit we have in M+ is survivability and the ease of use. However if everyone in the party is just as geared and skilled i.e. dont die, we are not very competitive objectively speaking.
We are serviceable, not optimal. It doesnt look like TWW is going to fix our utility either which is par for the course with blizz and their design decisions for warriors.
30sec ST stun, 1min aoe stun, strong self-sustain, strong defensives, good damage profile, high priority target damage and 5% AP that buffs every tank, all hunters, and all melee.
Seems pretty good to me.
I think the only argument DPS warrior has ATM is that it needs bloodlust. Lack of CC/dispel can be made up by this alone.
Also, I see you dropped some haste from one of your earlier posts when they called you out for having 49%. Down to 44%. You should drop another ~10% in favor of vers/mastery. I usually recommend inexperienced fury players stay around 35% because it allows for some error in your gameplay, whereas right now at max ilvl around 31% seems to be ideal for people playing at the highest of levels that make minimal mistakes.
Because you walked into the forum. Boasted about being 3k. Claimed you knew how the rotation and stat priorities, and than tried to act like, “Oh I’m not a min-maxer.” Like at least say, “Oh my bad. I guess I was wrong.” You set the tone of the whole thread my dude.
You got caught playing your character poorly and complaining about performance when there’s a ton you could be doing to improve yourself far before Blizzard actually gives us utility.
You seem to lack it, and fail to understand why you were met with hostility.
Its at least somewhat being recognized with the talent re-arrangement for Shockwave. I have to think there will be more information about their plans for Warrior utility come TWW Alpha/Beta.
Mature people don’t interject personal opinions into some body else’s words. If I wanted to say I was the bee’s knees, then I’d say that. Don’t create things out of thin air.
My haste was never 49% to begin with. Ingame, my haste was nearly 10% lower than that.
Dude…what? This is the warrior forum. I didn’t walk here. This is hilarious.
My exact quote was “I have a 3k io WW.”
If you think that’s boasting, you’re either extremely insecure IRL or have no social awareness. This is a mindset problem. Fix it.
80% of the responses in this post can be summed up by non-existent attention spans, poor social skills, and insecurity (with the odd bit of good advice mixed in).
I can’t say I’m surprised since these are the WoW forums, but you truly owe it to yourself to stop seeing the world that way. It’s unhealthy.
Actually wrong and this be easily disproven by looking at wc logs.
What’s the point of this statement other than saying: “I’m 3k, I know what I’m talking about.”
Is it meant to imply that it’s easier to get 3k on a monk than on a fury? Fury is way easier to play…
You know the stat weights but it doesn’t reflect on your character?
I’ve seen fury warriors do extremely well, admittingly I hardly ever invite them, but that’s because of their lack of utility. Damage is fine and their damage profile and priority damage is quite good.
The point is that you don’t personally infer and accuse somebody of something you have no concrete proof of. It’s simply a statement, and I’m sure there are better ways to spend your day.
