Rage is your entire spec. It’s damage through rampage and more damage through enrage uptime. The entire spec is built about generating the most rage over an extended period of time.
Well as you know there are some abilities that don’t generate rage, for example in our first tier we have the option to pick something else that increases our chance for Enrage to proc. Or gain 6 rage for when we enrage.
How important is it to pick talents that generate as much rage as fast as possible versus other talents.
Fresh meat itself does not generate more rage. It just increases your chances to be enraged by 15%
Also I’m not sure where its noted that Enrage helps build more rage, all it does is
“Becoming Enraged increases your damage done by 11%, Haste by 25%, and movement speed by 10% for 4 sec.” The ability that increases rage is Recklessness.
Well we all know ER is a good talent its a go to. I’m just curious to gather the opinion of how important is rage generation versus just picking talents that deal more damage overall.
With only having 1 ability as a rage dump, would it be better to pick Inner Rage or Sudden Death, do you go with the option that builds more rage or the option that does more damage?
I understand you’re trying to show how much knowledge you have and all that, which is great. kudos for you. I guess I’ll just dumb down the question and ask it in a different way so you don’t have to over think every response you provide.
Specifically just asking the question below. What is the more appealing option in general?
Talents that provides additional rage generation at the expense of increased damage dealt?
or
Talents that provides more damage overall at the expense of rage generation?
I appreciate the link, but not looking for a guide, I’m just looking for a general opinion.
With that in mind, remember not looking for whats best or optimal. Just a personal preference what you guys would rather have if the choice was available. What is more appealing to you guys if you had the choice, would you rather do A or B?
Depends what you’re doing. War Machine is good while leveling, when you can’t make big pulls and the speed boost between quest mobs is handy. The extra healing on Fresh Meat is good when you’re a fresh 120 doing WQ and still squishy. Once you’re a little better geared and doing group content, Endless Rage is clearly best because hitting Rampage more often is your top priority.
Yes, Fury only has one spender. It only needs one because that one button is almost 40% of your total damage. Put it together with auto-attacks and every other ability put together is less than 50% of your output. You’re making those other buttons dance to generate rage for more Rampage hits first and their actual damage second. If you’re at all familiar with Warlocks, just imagine that Fury is Destro and Rampage is Chaos Bolt.
Fury doesn’t need to go out of it’s way to generate rage. Between Raging Blow generation, Bloodthirst generation and AA generation, you generate enough rage to Rampage approximately every 6-8 seconds.
The only talent tier where we take a talent whose only purpose is rage generation is tier 1, where we take Endless Rage. This is because it smoothes out things a bit and because our other two options are really only viable in open world content (War Machine needs you to get a kill every 10 seconds in order to be of any value and Freah Meat provides extra durability when questing). Otherwise, we don’t talent for rage generation.
The guide is the general opinion. The guide comes before discussion. If you don’t care about optimization, then there is neither guide nor discussion. Discussion and gathering opinions comes after you’ve learned what’s in the guide and determined it’s not sufficient to solve your issue.
With a lot of what you’re asking, it’s frankly a math question. You’ve had someone both show you the program to go to that will solve your math problem, and pull out the white board to start breaking it down for you, and you blow them off.
If you understand so little of the basic mechanics at play that you don’t realize how much of an effect Enrage or Sudden Death has on your rage generation, maybe you need to consider that the problem is not people misunderstanding your question, the problem is you know so little you’re asking questions that don’t make any sense.
