The ottuks that are in the deeper water require luck or a swim speed potion or water walking potion to be able to get to the circle in time. This may be an intended difficulty. Additionally, if my pet is on assist, the pet does something to aggro the ottuk. Pet classes put your pets on passive for this one!

Horrible quest. I feel like Blizzard is just mailing it in at this point.

This quest works, so its not bugged, its just very poorly designed.

Best advice I can offer is - stay about twenty yards from the otter when its about to return the ball, stick to otters that are on the ground or at the shoreline, and if you have movement enhancing abilities, they help a lot.

If they want to make adjustments to this, they should make otters return the ball sooner, but slow the ball down by roughly 50%.

Best adjustment would be to remove this WQ altogether.

Tool tip says the ball has an 8 second CD. It’s more like a minute. I don’t think this ever got tested. Wowhead has no entry for it.

There’s a cooldown on the Ottuks themselves - when you (or another player) plays with them, they get a 40 or so (I cant recall exactly) second debuff which says they dont want to play ball again, and your ball is grey if you have one selected with the debuff.

Select another Ottuk which doesnt have this debuff and I think you’ll find 8 seconds is correct, but on the ball only.

it’s a very poorly explained quest, and even more poorly implemented.

I’d say remove the ‘catching’ aspect altogether. Just fix it to complete when you throw it. For crying out loud, not everything has to be so hard. There is no ‘skill’ or playing ability that you have to cultivate for a quest of this nature. We play to have fun, not get so frustrated we need to walk away.

Man they finally make a WQ that Shamans are good at and everybody complains.

Dear WoW developers, just give everyone water walking when doing this world quest. That’s all you have to do. Then disable the water walking as soon as we complete it.

So I flew over this WQ, didn’t think anything of it, had no intention of doing it. Then I went to go do Broodkeeper, and guess what, I’m on eggs! Oh and also guess what. I can’t use the god damn staff because my action button won’t say anything other than “throw ball” JUST FOR FLYING OVER IT. On top of that I went to go complete the quest to fix it, and GUESS WHAT. NOPE. WQ is bugged. Can’t catch the balls. tried for 30 minutes, watched on YT. Nothing. Thank you Blizz this was an excellent way to ruin my Monday.
