How do people feel about casual raid guilds funneling all tanking drops to the MT, then the OT, then the 3rd OT. By all tanking drops i do mean all, from rings to trinkets to tier set pieces as soon as they drop. After those three have the gear, provided none of the above quit or leave guild, dps warriors can finally have a shot at rolling on their tier gear.
I have seen this happen in two guilds that i was in and while i could understand the MT getting a few pieces by default, giving the gear by default to others simply for being prot spec never did feel right to me. Especially since none of the content requires might at this point to tank, it’s all easily doable in dungeon blues. Some warriors are even duel wield tanking.

Gear has the biggest impact on them, it makes sense.

What gear? And who else would it go to?
I mean, I don’t really care what guilds do, just like I don’t really care what instance groups do, but that doesn’t give any meaningful answer.
Would I join a guild that was doing that? Sure, as a tank
As a DPS warrior, maybe also. What gear do I need, and what will that help me with?
If though, they are prioritizing someone who just dinged 60, has no pre-bis, and just joined the guild over someone who has had perfect raid attendance for the past 4 weeks, and farmed pre-bis, that’s a different story.

I left out that those guilds have had a few tanks quit with the gear they got. It does sound rosy for tanks i agree.

Use feral druid tanks. we are cheap. 90% of the gear we get from raids is stuff nobody else wants.

Isnt the warrior tier literally only good for tanks tho

Warrior tier isn’t useful for DPS warriors so it makes sense to give it to the tanks.
DPS gear comes from UBRS with a few other pieces in the other 60 dungeons and largely consists of leather.
They can get it for OS when the tanks are done, and use it for tanking.

Fine. Provided the MT/MT/OT are committed to the guild and will continue to raid as the MT/MT/OT knowing full well the remaining tanking pieces that drop will goto dps for off spec, and all the dps gear will goto the dps first before they have a shot at it. If they are also giving dps gear to tanks before dps, thats when you say something. (Onslaught to a tank before a dps warr, because tank need more threat gear? i dont think so)
Its a system that has worked for a long time now.

It’s a terrible idea that almost everyone does, but only works for top end elitist guilds(because there is no one ahead of them). For casual guilds, it very, very commonly leads to problems with attendance(why show up when you already have all the loot?), or your guild’s only geared tanks getting poached by a more advanced guild so they can get the next tier of loot instead of waiting for the rest of the raid to catch up after they’ve been spoonfed.
If you want to insulate your guild from these issues, you should be spreading the loot around to all your tanks just like you would with any other class. This shows all the tanks that they are all valuable to the guild, raises morale and loyalty.

Most of warrior bis isn’t even the warrior tier gear so it only makes sense for main tanks to have it first.
And…hence Main Tank
This! And we get our own BiS items pre-raid too! Plus we’re really warm and fuzzy

There is alot more to look for in a great guild member than these 2 things. Did they sit out a raid because it was full and they needed an extra healer instead of the dps, even though they were early. Have they helped other guild members run instances, helped guild members do anything at all.
I would take a non pre raid bis player, that has helped the guild for 4 weeks over a player that has done nothing but solo farm pre raid bis and then expect a raid spot be given to them.
Are you a druid tank? curious, thinking of making a druid for the easy gears idk the play style though and don’t want to heal.

I am! The gear is “easy” only in the sense that you gear up a ton by doing 5mans and Molten Core only has 3-4 items you really want and then you’re done. I’m still running Scholomance for the damn Bone Ring Helm but Shadowcraft gets the job done just as well.
The play style is very straightforward as well: run in, smash Swipe/Maul, repeat. It is like playing a Warrior, but without all the extra bells and whistles, while still getting the job done handily.
I love it.

You’ll need a dedicated guild if you don’t want to heal. I want to tank too, but I’m healing as well.
Is Leveling also much easier as a druid? that’s a big concern of mine
Feral is pretty quick once you get Bear at 10 and then Cat at 20. It isn’t Frost Mage farming quick, but it isn’t Warrior slow either. Pull a few mobs, kill them, heal up, repeat.
Alrighty thanks for the info I heard druids are beasts in pvp too so that’s cool

Leveling is definitely easier since you can heal yourself and stealth around for those painful quests a warrior would have to clear out slowly to do.
If you want to be able to down content easier its the most logical thing to do.
