What kind of functional decor can we expect with Midnight launch? I’d like to have all the functionality of a city; crafting tables, banks, AH.
I do think we should have crafting in our houses, but banks, G banks and AH/BMAH I think those should be physical buildings in our neighborhoods.
I’d also like the devs to reevaluate hub cities in general, maybe rethink their purpose and maybe even their existence.
Also, portals would be a really big thing for our houses.
I want a functional buffet table, how else am I going to feed my guests.
I want the coffee press from Dalaran in Legion.
That’s really it.
I’m weary because I have a feeling they’ll take the approach of other MMOs when it comes to utility decorations for your housing.
Meaning you’ll be shilling out $10 for them.
This.
how cool would it be to see houses (like player houses) in Org or Stormwind. Of course, you can’t fit every house in there but that would be neat if they did sort of like they did with the Coreway in WW. As you fly down the Coreway (or some street in Org or Stormwind) you automatically phase into the housing neighborhood, or something.
Also, they need to put a NPC that lets you choose which neighborhood you want to go to because as it stands it automatically ports you to your guild neighborhood, and if you want to go to your alliance house or horde house you have to burn you housing hearth to do so.
This is kind of what I expected with the neighborhoods, that they’d be connected to Org/Storm in some way, instead of their own islands.
I mean I’m fine with their own “islands” or whatever, but I still think it would be cool to see actual player housing in the actual cities.
I doubt Blizz will go for it, they probably don’t want a repeat of the Garrison fiasco with everyone just cooped up in their house
Crafting tables are about as high as they’ll probably take it
Good news most of the stoves are functional already.
I don’t think we’ll see actual utility as decorations in housing for a while. At least not “big” utility like AH or Banks.
Blizzard seem fairly adamant that housing is something that can be ignored completely if you’re not interested in it, to avoid it being Garrisons 2.0.
Mailboxes seem like the biggest thing we’d be able to place in our homes. Maybe a crafting table.
Everything should perform the function that it logically would, no more and no less. If they don’t want xyz functionality in housing for whatever reason then don’t add those items to the decor pool.
My forge should be able to function as a forge. My mailbox should be able to function as a mailbox. That isn’t asking for much. I’m not asking for bank/AH or even trade tables. Just let the items perform their functions and think twice about what they add as decor.
apparently the functional chess board isnt functional after all.
i wouldnt expect anything functional at this point heh
It’s inevitable.
Just like shop mogs, mounts, pets, eventually they’ll sell decor.
At least they can’t sell creativity itself, lol. That’s a talent.
Mailbox I think is a no-brainer and totally fine.
Profession tables I think are okay too–the trainers and vendors are still in the cities, after all. I might even go so far as to say maybe the profession stations in your house shouldn’t access crafting orders, but you could still craft stuff.
Transmog seems like a no-brainer too. Would be weird to not be able to change clothes in your own house.
If they added bank and AH access, I would say those should be separate buildings/NPC’s in the neighborhood. To me, it doesn’t make sense to have those things in your house.
My understanding was all housing was purely aesthetic and nothing like crafting tables/etc. would be included to avoid a repeat of garrisons pulling people out of cities into their own little isolated phases.
But I’d like to have them, for sure. My house in ESO has got all the crafting stations.
Crafting stations would be awesome but…
I just want a functional mailbox for my house… not just a decorative one one
This was my ideal as well, that there’d be plots in cities you could choose as a house and you’d see your phased house seamlessly in the city alongside everything else.
Probably a technologically tall order, though. But too bad we didn’t get it.
They’ve already said the only “functiona;” item will be a stove. Everything else they want people in the cities for.
Little to none.
As far as I can tell right now, there are a few decor items that allow you to cook food items, but Blizzard has outright stated that there are no plans to have crafting tables placed in homes, etc. They are not trying to create garrisons 2.0.
