Fun times, I guess

What’s fun about the maw? Inconvenience? Grinding out riding your ground mount?

Maybe someone can tell me what they enjoy about it.

I don’t have a problem with it. Mostly because I run a couple dailies in the same area as a quest I have, then leave by the time I hit level 2 of our Parental Eye.

It’s not that it is enjoyable for me, I am not like “Woohoo yay The Maw!”, but I don’t particularly hate it either. I go in and do my daily/weekly stuff, maybe kill a few of the bosses if my jailer eye hasn’t gotten too high, and move on. It’s just something that is only my list of things to do that will eventually get me something I want.

I like how scary it is and we aren’t supposed to be there. I’m just here to find the mount. Lol

I just like the layout. It’s really unique to me - not a zone quite like it. Almost feels like a big outdoor dungeon which is cool.

Haven’t felt an area like that since vanilla (one of those areas you dare not enter without some friends)

I do think there should be cooler rewards here though. Just using it as a rep grind seems like they’re selling it short. (I think a maw mount would look way cooler than a junk dog)

Nothing is fun about the maw lol. I especially hate the losing stygia mechanic. i wouldnt mind it otherwise.

PLEASE BLIZZARD CHANGE THIS AND I WILL BE IN THE MAW ALL DAY (i mean until rank5)

I found the atmosphere there spooky and enjoyable. Especially like the river of souls I found when I fell off the bridge.

The timeless isles from MoP was one of the most enjoyable areas in the game and every other zone thereafter pales in comparison. The maw is bland, boring, annoying to traverse, and lacks any fun things to do.

its like visions, but the other faction can tag mobs onto you, whats not to hate?

It feels dangerous. It feels like hell. I love the atmosphere. When they say it’s inescapable the gameplay makes it feel believable.

It’s not challenging and it doesn’t feel dangerous. All of the mechanics about it are just annoying and artificially limiting. Getting INSTANT DEATH (not really) after spending too much time there isn’t interesting.

What WOULD be interesting is if there were more tiers of threats that players with enough gear and skill could overcome to extend their time. For example:

Rank 5: The Jailer curses you to take 20% more damage and receive 20% less healing.

Rank 6: Towers now bombard your position with multiple shots that deal more damage and stun you.

Rank 7: Enemies aggro you from a much larger range (10 yards farther).

Rank 8: Assassins are now elite enemies, but they drop massive caches of Stygia when killed.

Rank 9: The Jailer’s curse now reduces your damage and healing by 20%.

Rank 10: The Eye of the Jailor suffuses your very being, allowing you to see hidden caches of Stygia, Soul Ash and treasure. Powerful Mawsworn Tormentors have been sent to end your existence.

Rank 11: Drop all Stygia upon death.

So the difficulty ramps up, but so does the risk and the reward. This encourages tackling the content as a group, but even then, dealing with the Mawsworn Tormentors (Rare-Elite level enemies) when everyone is 20% less effective would be difficult, especially if multiples spawn at once.
