Is there a fun ranged class that does not make use of pet?
… Mage maybe? They’re good all-rounders. Shadow is too much of a pain to get going and working well.
Fun is subjective, so your mileage may vary.
EDIT: Forgot about Elemental Shamans. They’re decently fun if you don’t mind the lack of mobility and how turret-y the spec feels. They use temporary pets, (Fire & Earth elementals) but they’re more of a cooldown than a real permanent pet.
depends what you mean by “fun” it highly varies. MM can go lone wolf doesn’t necessarily mean your dps will be good with it though. same with frost mages. you could always go arcane which usually has issues or fire.
shamans pets require cd so it’s not too bad and outside of that the rest are mandatory in some way or form from what i remember. boomkin is the only one that has no pets in general dont play one so cant say if it’s fun or not. pet classes are not hard to learn tbh manage your pet well and it’s simple gameplay pet management really is important mostly in M+ i would assume as well as PvP
Balance druid
Warlocks.
We melt faces on our own. Our pet is optional (fine, except Demonology), you’re free to use them as your personal pocket tank, or sacrifice them for your personal gain via a talent. We sport great mogs, and even our own class mount.
Most importantly - you have every legit reason to be evil and get to walk away with it.
