Fun question - Petbattles

Is it me, or does anyone AFTER playing petbattles for a bit, make you want to take another look at Pokemon

After trying for 5k pvp pet battles, no.

I lost interest when BFA came out, and they swapped all the existing pet tokens without warning, and pretty much screwed people over. Pet Battles were meant to be something fun and enjoyable, not extra grind.

Since Pokemon came out either while I was in college or just after I graduated college… I don’t feel any nostalgia about it. I’m not a huge fan of the pet battles (however I -do- enjoy pet collecting), so no.

I played Pokémon go once for about 5 minutes

That is the entirety of my Pokémon career.

Never had any interest in Pokemon. Never saw the show or whatever it was that made it popular. Like Fenshire, it was way after my time.

I do sometimes enjoy pet battles, and I like collecting them, but I’m not very hardcore into it.

hmm interesting replies. Im an old fart (prob older than most - but I am a game lover), I never really got into Pokemon, when I did, it was because of the popularity, but personally, it wasn’t that the game was BAD, it was just a boring grind. As a software writer, I was gonna see if I could make a clone of it, smaller scale, and it was then I did not realize the complexity of the game. wow!

Playing pet battles seemed to scratch that pet collecting/master battling itch. The battle mechanics not withstanding, the game play is identical. find pets, collect, train, battle masters - repeat.

guess I’m weird. I thought for sure an old(young) player would have gotten back into it.

Thanks for the input guys

I do pet battles semi regularly. They’re an easy way to get 1/4 in a zone for daily WQ’s.

They reward 15 Dark Moon tickets a day (per account), but my time going to DMF is about over, I’m at 991 / 1000 for the last mount.

I got 1/3 of each pet dungeon token battle pet, so I no longer have to do Dead Mines or Gnomeregan, and also finished 4/4 on the Celestial pets.

I’ve got all pets in the safari achievements except the summer only pet, which I’ll get in a couple months and I’ll be done with those two meta achievements (Kalimidor Safari and World Safari).

I’ve got 938 / 1000 pets toward that achievement and I’m buying a pet from AH when money permits, slow but sure.

I’ll probably never get the PVP achievement because I only pet PVP during pet week and that 5/5000 on those weeks.

I do use pet battles to supplement experience for alts since they give one half to two thirds a bubble of experience per daily quest. If I have a flying mount available, hitting daily pet battles can sometimes be easier than grinding BFA quests I’m sick of.

I too enjoy the pet battling. I started collecting when they introduced pet battling. However, it was WOD that got me more excited about battling because of our garrison. As bad as garrison where as far as being lonely, that was the best part of the garrison. When Legion came out and we really had the pet store, it made it even better. I completed all the quests for BFA, or so I thought so. While going out to do some pet battles I found 3 more side quests to do.
I guess what i am saying before I rattle on, is I would love to see a new pet store in Stormwind and Orgrimmar since they are our capitals. The two trainers are off by themselves and at this time WE NEED A PET STORE in our capitals, and a board in there that has the various pets for sell that are listed on the AH and only the pets and accessories. IDK - I thought it would be a cool place to hang out to buy, sell, trade and meet out pet battlers.

They, uhh, they gave everyone plenty of notice, told everyone to go spend their tokens while they could. I’m sorry if you felt like you should be able to instantly get everything every expansion with the thousands of pet charms you stockpiled up but it was inevitable that this was going to happen and they gave us a few months advance warning to spend our charms on pet supplies.
