Just wondering how to completely wipe all my settings. I just reinstalled wow to try do this and it seems everything is cached on server side even though I deleted the entire wow folder and uninstalled any help would be appreciated thank you !
What settings do you want reset on the server?
All my settings graphical , key binds , preferences everything in settings in game I Deleted the folder and re-installed wow thinking it would wipe all settings but it didn’t
most all of that stuff is UI related, saved in your wow folder and removed by deleting the interface, wtf, and cache folders. not sure why it wouldn’t have gotten deleted if you deleted the entire folder, but i’d try deleting them individually.
there are some server side settings that can be set back to default by typing /console cvar_default on each character you want to reset, but these are usually only changed by addons and it doesn’t exactly sound like these are what you are describing.
Yea its just annoying because something is corrupted for sure and I cant fully reset all my settings because there being cached server side lmao
There is nothing else being cached server side that I’m aware. What specifically won’t reset, and does it show as reset when you make a new character.
My key binds, Interface options. Its so weird I even did the console command it didn’t do anything I think I might just unsub and uninstall crazy that a game of this calibre and size even has issues as simple as this lol
keybindings you can reset by just going into the keybindings option and hitting restore default. you’d need to be specific about what other interface option won’t reset for help on that. to the best of my knowledge, resetting the UI and the cvars should restore the interface to stock.
Okay but I reinstalled word of Warcraft and non of my settings changed is there any way to do a complete wipe of everything surely there should be some way of doing that mabye a blizzard employee could shed some light
You would need to post over in the macros and UI forum to ask that question.
i’ll just re-iterate that if you do a full UI reset according to these instructions https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/7549 (you can just delete the folders instead of re-naming them if you don’t want to keep any of your addons) and you run the command /console cvar_default in game on each character, your options should be reset. can’t help any more without more info about what is wrong. good luck.

I am having this same issue.
I am trying to reset all my settings, I’ve deleted WTF, Interface and Cache.
I’ve tried “Reset In-Game Options” in Battle.net
I’ve tried “/console cvar_default” ingame.
Yet everytime I log in all my settings have not been reset.
By all settings I mean Keybinds, Interface settings, Graphics, UI Layout, Macros etc
I had come to the same conclusion that it was getting backed up on the servers somewhere so went searching and found this thread.
Are you running the launcher and the game as a windows Administrator?
Yes, both are run as admin
Yea good luck someone thought caching a bunch of settings server side that we can’t undo was a good idea lol
