has anyone tried a full mastery build on disc priest? how big are your shield absorbs if so. is it worth/fun? i would think it would feel like classic disc with big shields
Priest in general is a pretty GCD lock spec between cleanses, damage gcds, heal gcds, purges, cc ect.
Mastery really good but prob going to feel awful going FULL mastery.

Disc priest Crit builds are actually the way to go or haste. Mastery is terrible.
No point in wasting the mana or energy on the shields because the damage gets bursted through too easily and even with all the mastery in the world the shields still absorb like no damage. It’s been too heavily nerfed over the BFA era or Disc Priest being unkillable in PvP.

I tried a full mastery in m+ with some friends and slightly undergeared tank for giggles. Even at that extreme level of mastery with shrouded affix it struggled to keep up and was barely noticeable. Watching penance bolts pop out of your hands like a constipated dog really sucks.

I’ve tried like 23% haste and mastery. I don’t think it was that good.
ATM I have a crit build however that I am swapping to vs SP and Affy comps and in some 2s. It involves running around 30% crit and the trinity PVP talent in 3s which gives 30% crit on penance when you have 3 buffs atonement buffs up. (so 60% crit penance)
In 2s I’m sometimes playing that with the talent that gives penance more damage I do pretty nice damage with the crit build and that talent in 2v2. Having said this I never run that build into teams with melee classes they smash big damage with the lack of versatility.

I’ve noticed the top disc on world ladder for 3s is balancing both mastery/haste around 26% mast/25% haste. I got my disc to 25/25/36% vers and it feels pretty good globals seem fast still and my shields absorb around 11k with atonement at 301 ilvl. ill play around with it more maybe go back full haste test the difference.
I’m 42% Mastery. It feels pretty ok.
