I’m finding it hard to maintain motivation to play recently because here we are, idk how many weeks in and I still don’t have the queen ring. However, my new warlock alt has all three LFR/Norm/HC copies of the ring, but can’t get the spymaster now. There has to be a dinar/bullion system even if it only lets you buy ONE item per raid per season. I’m pretty sure we’re already halfway through s1, so it’s not even possible to fully kit out another alt in full 639s as there are not that many vault weeks left in the season. Why should someone like me keep playing?

Intentionally rare ring is rare.
RNG is a fickle mistress.
No need, you have 6 months to get an item you’re chasing after and we are barely halfway into the season.
They wouldn’t be an alt then, that would be a second main, which will is supposed to take a long time to gear. Alts are meant to be 1-2 difficulties of gear lower than your main.
11.0.7 is adding some new content and a new BiS ring. If you don’t have anything left to do though, just unsub and come back next season. There’s nothing wrong with that.

They simply need to buff raid drops a decent bit. Any system tuning could end up having a worse effect

I’ve been suggesting this for a while, but I think they should bring back more deterministic options with the vault like the bullion system.
You complete a vault category, ie. do 8 dungeons, 6 raid bosses, etc. you get a bullion for that category. Do 8 +10s? Myth Bullion. Kill 6 heroic bosses? Hero bullion.
This would keep people playing, but still provide an avenue for getting items within a season while they matter.

Dinars are probably the best system that they’ve added but outside of the end of the expansion they’re locked away in a box for an emergency “hey the game is literally dying” situation.
To be honest it’s the best thing that FFXIV does with raiding because you can’t get screwed over on loot. Kill enough bosses and eventually you can go guaranteed buy a piece from the vendor.
At the very least bring back bonus rolls to counter master looter garbage.

I never expect to get BIS, it’s meant to be rare. I’m also able to complete AOTC / KSH and all other goals without BIS.
Stop expecting BIS, why do you need it? Are you a 1% raider or M+er?
BIS can also change dramatically based on balance passes. You have a fool’s errand.

You realize you don’t NEED best in slot, right? Like, as soon as your gear is comfortable for the content you do, you can stop playing for gear and just play for fun. I mean, you do. realize that, right?

It’s an alt. Not a main. No one is getting full Mythic gear BiS on a bunch of characters.

I would understand if WoW did anything for its endgame beyond the loot grind, but the loot game IS the endgame and is designed to be a chase.
