That one imo is the easiest. It has a learning curve though.

The explanation given by the NPC is very obtuse. There needs to be a better way of showing how to solve the puzzle so that anyone can understand it right away. I’m still working on the quest after 20 minutes, and it’s just a bother.

I gave up on this. I guessed after 30 minutes of being on the struggle bus. Looked up guides on how to complete it, and they were just as stupid as the NPCs directions were. One of theme even mentioned I should bring out excel and start doing formulas to figure out which ones to select.

For being a puzzle in this game, they really need to remove it. Its going to cause more people headaches. And it isn’t fun. The first one was easy to complete. I also beleive the mezzonic one should be just outright removed. Its again, not fun. I shouldnt be having to do complex brain puzzles just to play a game. If I wanted to do that kinda stuff I’d get the game that provided that kinda stuff. Maybe ive been up far too late, and these are easier on a well rested brain, but I can already tell after a long day of work and coming home… the last thing I want to do is a mezzonic or Fugueal. Just give me the nice easy ones like the first one, and maybe like the ones from legion.

To be honest look up a YouTube vid they are actually not too terrible but the nice dosent explain that junk properly at all.

There’s an addon for that. It makes the puzzle “see Spot: see Spot run” type of easy

Either the explanation given isn’t right, or this game is broken. On one of my solves I had:

1> 3 squares.
2> They had 1, 2, 3 shapes inside.
3> the shapes were circles, squares and triangles.
4> the outlines were 1, 2, and 3 thick.

Because of condition #1, it should have failed. But it didn’t.

I had a similar game I won … that I shouldn’t have for a similar reason.

This game doesn’t follow its own rules. The Engineering toy from Legion and the game in Nazj that was similar to it were fine.

The three games in ZM … not fun. >(

Same vibe. “Pick three runes that have EVERYTHING in COMMON or EVERYTHING DISTINCT.”

My last triple had all squares in the interiors (one square, two squares, and three squares), and all exterior circles (two triples and one double).

It should not have worked, according to the “rules” of the puzzle.

It worked. Quest complete.

I spent 15 minutes trying to solve a puzzle based on the rules I was given, but it turns out that the rules don’t matter? Like what?

I think one of the main issues is that we’re all so exhausted from doing quest after quest after quest that, by the time these puzzles come up, we’re just not able to focus on anything different than the norm. For the tutorials at least there needs to be a simpler explanation – sort of a “click here, click here, click hereeee… and you’re done!”, like how it is with the garrisons. That way we can at least see how it works, instead of just reading about it.

I explained this a couple days ago, reposting:

There are 9 clickos in a 3x3 grid.

You need to sort them into 3 sets of 3.

Each set of 3 looks at 4 elements: the shape of each clicko’s borders, the number of layers in each clicko’s borders, the shapes of the nucleus in each clicko’s core, and the number of nucleus in each clicko’s core.

For each of the 4 checks, they must be ALL the same, or ALL different. The four different checks can be different for each, but must all be the same within that check.

Let’s look at the blue trio:
Border shapes: ALL SAME (all are hexagons)
Border layers: ALL SAME (each border is just 1 layer)
Number of nuclei: ALL DIFFERENT (1 has 1 nucleus, 1 has 2, 1 had 3 nuclei)
Shapes of nuclei: ALL SAME (circles)

The green trio:
Border shapes: ALL DIFFERENT (one is circles, one is squares, one is hexagons)
Border layers: ALL SAME (each has 2 layers to its border)
Number of nuclei: ALL DIFFERENT (1 x 1, 1 x 2, 1 x 3)
Shapes of nuclei: ALL DIFFERENT (one is a triangle, one is squares, one is circles)

And so on for the purple trio.

Have you talked to the people complaining that there’s nothing to do in this patch?

If you’ve ever played the game set, you’ve beaten that ZM puzzle.

:+1:

Thanks Brewa!

I did the tutorial and was able to match the first 3 and the second 3, and only had 3 left, and I looked at them and I didn’t understand why the remaining 3 were a valid solution.

I thought it meant it had to be all COMPLETELY the same or all COMPLETELY different and my remaining 3 were a mix of sames and differents which threw me off.

But… I haven’t. And playing that game isn’t a requirement to play WoW.

So their poor explanation of this mini-game falls very short to me.

They have a cheat sheet, like other addons.
Game Genie it.

There is an addon that helps. https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/zereth-mortis-puzzle-helper

I just use the addon because I don’t have time for unfun blizzard puzzles

Same Yipper…spent hours trying these things …finally got addon…

once people get used to these puzzles, it’s going to be take you like 10 seconds to do in the future.

New stuff is always going to be a little more difficult to figure out, especially on day 2.

some players give up way too quick lol

i will say, the thing that made this the longest puzzle to defeat, was that i think it was bugged last night. I had to solve it several times before it gave me credit

This puzzle was designed by a drunk monkey on crack.

The instructions are unclear, but I’m able to puzzle my way to their meaning…but the runes i’m able to clear away don’t follow the instructions. And more puzzling of all…IF I CLICK THE SAME THREE RUNES IN A DIFFERENT ORDER they don’t work.
