Frustrated

I was pretty excited for a new start in 8.3. My plan was to unlock the vulpera, buy the new expansion, boost one to 120, and start leveling on a whole new server as horde.

I understood the requirements for unlocking the vulpera but, as someone who mained an alliance this expansion, I did not realize how frustrating it would be to actually obtain them. I leveled a horde character around a year ago to 120, so i figured it would be easy to get to exalted with the Voldunai…

At this point, doing everything I can on days that I can (i work 14+ hours a day 4 days a week so cant do much on days I work) It will take me roughly 3 weeks to a month to get exalted.

Or I can spend around $60 and play one today.

It isnt even like I didnt play this expansion and want a quick catchup. I just played the wrong faction! My excitement has been crushed and I don’t feel like playing now since I am stuck doing old content with my limited time instead of the new stuff.

You’ve had well over 3 weeks to level. I actually for the last few weeks die the rep grind so I could unlock them today.

So that’s on you. You know what would be required and you decided to wait. That is nobody’s fault but your own.

(BTW, I took work 10-12 hours a day Monday-Friday)

not sure what “Or I can spend around $60 and play one today.” means. you still have to unlock the vulpera the same way as everyone else. buying shadowlands won’t let you skip the grind

Im not saying that this ISNT my fault. I am aware it is that is 50% of the reason why I am frustrated.

I decided to wait because I didnt realize JUST how long it would take… I figured by the next reset I would be finished. Sounded completely reasonable to me. When i first leveled in this expansion back at the beginning, I do not remember it taking so long to get the base reputations

I can faction change my alliance character to horde and it will unlock since I’ve completed the alliance equivalent rep.

But if I am making it a horde character, then I am going to move it to my new server so roughly $60

You had a 120 Horde and didn’t get your rep for the well documented expansion you planned for during the 15th months long reputation/experience gains?

In your rush to fame and glory you forgot one simple element…the doll !! -Weird Science

…I can’t link memes so I use the quote and let people that know the movie envision the scene. It’s a reverse meme…or just a quote from a scene.

Haha rip

I sympathize OP but you won’t get many other people who will. It will just be childish drivebys of “lol” and “you had insert amount of time here”.

The forums have a “Forget you I got mine already” attitude when it comes to Allied Races and similar achievements.

rep at this point is assumed needed for everything.

Whether good/bad, smart/stupid…I will not debate on (edit: I think its bad and stupid fwiw, but I don’t make this game lol). It just is…accept and move on there.

So grind any bar you see for rep is the way of things. has been for a bit and will continue to be.

Remember this new, and older players, when SL come out. we will see the usual empty rep bars for all the crews in the game. Fill them all. Both sides. Something will use them eventually really lol.

yet, you waited to get vodunai rep until the day the patch hit?

we’ve known vulpera were coming for a long time now.

pointing out the reality of this being 100% OP’s fault isn’t childish. Whining about not having a tamed squirrel* NOW when you were aware of the steps necessary to acquire said tamed squirrel, however, is.

*golden or geese, I suppose. depends on which version of the movie you prefer.

Also, fwiw, I think the rep requirements are stupid. But they are there, blizzard has stated they aren’t changing it, and we’ve all known about them.

I just see it as a glorified hahaha at this point. It’s just people coming into threads to talk down to other players who either didn’t know the requirements ahead of time or just weren’t able to get them done.

I just don’t see the smugness or the condescension as really being necessary so I find it a bit annoying.

Vulpera were not officially announced until like October or November. And I got my horde character to 120, logged out, and basically didnt return to it until a few days ago. I did not realize just how far behind I was on reputation and how long it would take. Which is where my frustation lies. Not with having to do the reputation. Im totally fine with that.

The fact that I spent the expansion on my alliance and did everything on my alliance and that doesnt count for anything, unless I pay for it to.

And there isnt anything childish about expressing my frustration on an open forum, like that is their purpose. I am not demanding Blizzard change anything. I am not going to cancel my sub because of a simple set back. By the time the next expansion comes out I probably wont even remember this.

These devs can’t even complete pathfinder themselves yet expect us to play WoW 15 hours a day. Let’s all just pray Ion gets fired some day.

At least you have the level 120. I started a new Horde char a while ago, and leveled it the old-fashioned way, because I wanted to see some of the actual story from the Horde side. So now she’s lvl 105, and will go into hibernation for a while, while I do modern stuff on my Alliance chars.

But every single allied race had required exalted rep, and grind it out storyline work. And getting rep in BfA has been grind it out through every phase.

I’m not laughing at you, but this shouldn’t be a surprise.

I agree with your frustration Moonrayna. I personally think they went WAY WAY WAY overboard on all the requirement to gain access to the allied races. I worked months to get my horde character to where I could make a Valpera, and now I’m forced to spend even more hours doing tedious quests. The game is NOT fun when I need to do so much work just to create a new character!

I will NOT participate in anymore allied races, I’m done with that carrot unless they want to go back to the old way were the only requirement was to buy the expansion, and have fun playing your new character.

I feel like thats where I misunderstood. I dont remember an intense grind at the beginning for the alliance reps. I am surprised by the time frame that it will take to do it.

It would be different if the rep wasnt locked so hard behind a daily reset. If i had to spend 14 hours and do it all today/tomorrow, I wouldnt have an issue. But having to spend 1 hour for 14 days is why It sucks.

The rep grind as you were doing other stuff wasn’t as obvious as when you’re starting from scratch.

because 7th rep is easy to get and spoon fed decent off of war story alone.

then 120 is hit and if you played this smartly…you did most if not all turtles and champions in z land. This is how 7th runs up quick for me. I unless no choice do not do turtles/champions for alliance in alliance lands. Gimme that 7th rep for moar paragon runs lol. 7th for paragon rewards imo if you must back one pony in the race they are it.

Proudmoore goes smoother since a big story (so lots of rep if you do it all).

And with crafting professions trashed by and large you get at least 1 turn in materials quests a day. So there is more rep shots there alone.

I’d be cherry picking the AR granting reps here ofc.
