I took a break from the game a short bit into Dragonflight, and when I came back during the TWW prepatch event, I saw the reward for the Harbinger was a void customization option for the Slitherwing Drake mount. I immediately decided to disable exp gains so I could finish the questline for that and still go into TWW at 70. I got distracted by Classic for a bit, and when I came back to do the questline, I realized I was gaining exp again. I go back, talk to the guy, you can’t disable exp gains at 70 anymore. And the fact that the questline sends you through an area full of elites means that it is impossible for me to complete the quest without going above 70. And I didn’t get the gold back. Meanwhile, I’ve been hearing that parts of the main story are outright broken right now, and some people have been unable to unlock Earthen. I don’t know why there’s even a maximum level you can disable exp at in the first place, let alone one that just screws people over like that.
At 71 you should still be able to quickly and easily kill elites.
This has been fixed for days.
Exploitation is why
I don’t want to be 71 going into TWW, that’s the entire reason I’m venting on here.
In other words, everyone with legitimate reasons for wanting to stay at 70 is being punished because of some exploiters? That is an incredibly frustrating way of dealing with the problem, and just punishes people playing legitimately instead of the exploiters. Doesn’t even seem like something that should be that exploitable unless something else isn’t working right.
Tough luck it’s not being changed.
No legitimate reason.
It lets you experience content without completely outlevelling it, that seems like a pretty legitimate reason to me.
Want this back. It only got disabled because geared 70s were owning leveling dungeons.
And there is a very legit reason to lock- Characters I outfitted in speed sets will lose a huge chunk of that speed if they hit 71. They already lost plenty just by the prepatch tertiary changes.
exploitation that doesnt involve any negative actions towards other players | boosting is a crime? who is it hurting?
I don’t understand your reason. It wouldn’t matter much if you where a level above, it won’t be game changing or game breaking.
I have to test this…I tthink I have a 70… if not I’ll delete a toon and level to 70 then try to to turn xp off. People do it also when they did not experience all that level 70 should show them so they get to experience alll of lvl 70 content

[/quote]Yep I see my toon who I had xp off is now leveling. I am now going to delete her and start back to level 10.
I just deleted my level 70 mage and my level 70 hunter. I had xp off on them to farm for a rare drop i never get. Nerf me and I just delete. Ive had it up to here with people trying to force me to play a certain when I am not cheating and not breaking TOS.
