Rather than making the hike across the Wetlands, you can (potentially) save yourself some time by swimming west from Menethil Harbor to approximately coordinates 17.8, 16.8 (the coordinates are for the Dun Morogh map). On the map of Dun Morogh, this the leftmost small bay that is approximately “11 o’clock” from the entrance to Gnomeregan. You can drown yourself in the shallow water to resurrect in Kharanos.
If you’re particularly adventurous (it won’t save you time), you can continue swimming west and south until the area “The Great Sea” changes to Westfall. Drown yourself there to rez in Sentinel Hill.
There is just something about the mental image of thousands of elves drowning themselves like this that puts a smile on my face. I mean it’s nothing against the Alliance. Just Elves all drowning themselves is hilarious.
I tried drowning. I swam southwest from the pier at Menethil (south is mobs) into a little bay that seems close to Ironforge. I drowned.
I couldn’t figure out the co-ords in post one (how to you go west to those numbers, when Menethil is already below 10? Do you mean Gnomeregan (which doesn’t exist) or Ironforge?)
I rezzed at the graveyard in the middle of Wetlands! Well, I’m halfway to the tunnel. Might as well run from here. Running back to Menethil woud take a while…
The coordinates are for the Dun Morogh map (I added that to the OP for clarity). Swimming southwest from Menethil Harbor will show you in the Wetlands zone, but if you bring up the map for Dun Morogh, you’ll see your character icon “in” Dun Morogh, but the game still considers you in Wetlands until you get to the 17.8, 16.8 coordinates.
