If this spell didn’t suck so bad maybe spell slinger could have been a thing for more than 5 mins. Please re-design Frozen orb for midnight.

Its use is to get charges
It has to hit stuff to get procs. OP is almost assuredly talking about when you cast it and it either doesn’t path right or tank pulls everything away from it (common in low-mid pugs).
Something like having frozen orb attach to your target so it moves with the pack would be ideal.
Has to hit enemies to get charges. And with a 12s duration that constantly moves, it tends to end up missing about 20% of its overall hits.
I wouldnt be against them redesigning frost orb. Maybe make it similar to diablo 2 sorcerer frost orb. a big burst ability that shoots out icicles empowered by our mastery
For Midnight, the orb slowly follows yours target, a nice improvement for Raids in particular.
