Honestly anything at this point to make frostscythe usable, shattering blade also needs love since DW oblit is so far behind now in anything other than pure single target while being substantially harder to play.

So then why would someone use froststrike to consume shattering blade? Frostscythe would do way more damage

Single target I think the damage would be similar, and that’s using a KM proc on it. The coefficient is very low vs frost strikes and imp frost strike widens it more.

Outside that it’s a rune and GCD. I don’t think it would gain priority over Oblit spam during the spend window unless you had several full stacks going, and then it would be a single use for the burst that also consumed your razorice stacks.

I’m hoping though it would open up howling blast’s icicle drop + glacial advance into packs with frostscythe as a builder/spender.

They could always give it a weaker effect for frostscythe than frost strike if it ends up egregious. Seems to be a theme for scythe already

Should MotFW affect FScy and make RW apply RI?

I would make it so FScy makes your next Frost Strike Hit 5 targets. “A sweeping attack that strikes all enemies in front of you for (23.2564% of Attack power) Frost damage. This attack benefits from Killing Machine. Critical strikes with Frostscythe deal 4 times normal damage and make your next Frost Strike hit 5 targets. Deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets.” This way we could take Razor Ice + Shattering Blade.

Lol. Sure. They aren’t going to do anything to improve frost. PTR Patch Notes show Frost getting a semi-nerf (5% reduction in the 2-set tier bonus damage for Oblit). Meanwhile, Unholy gets love.
